A unit includes a container module with a coffee bean container and a portioning device for metering coffee beans. The module as a whole is configured for connection to a coffee apparatus, the connection enabling a metered delivery of coffee beans from the module into a grinder. The coffee bean container is tightly closed prior to the first use and, after an opening operation, has an opening through which coffee beans enter into the portioning device. The coffee bean container is coupled with the portioning device in a releasable and reconnectable manner by use of a coupling element. The opening can be closed again when the coffee bean container is separated from the portioning device. The unit makes it possible to handle and enjoy coffee in a cost-effective and environmentally aware manner.

Unit for a coffee device

An apparatus for dosing coffee beans for the purpose of selecting a metered quantity to be ground comprises a portioning device with a metering chamber having a receiving volume for receiving the coffee beans. The receiving volume is variable. Preferably, the setting of the metered quantity is performed mechanically, wherein the effect of the settings on the portioning device takes place mechanically. Preferably, the apparatus comprises a setting ring for manually adjustment of the metered quantity.

Apparatus for metering coffee beans

A unit of a coffee apparatus, in particular a coffee machine for brewing a coffee drink, includes a coffee bean container for storing the coffee beans, a portioner for portioning the coffee beans for an individual portion, and a grinder for grinding the portioned coffee beans. The coffee bean container and the portioner are formed in a common container module. The unit has a module receptacle, by which the container module can be connected during use and removed after use, and the container module has settings for a portion amount and a degree of grinding, which can be selected by the user. The portion amount setting influences the portioner and the degree of grinding setting influences the grinder. A simple, cost-effective and easy-to-use information exchange module between coffee container and coffee apparatus is thereby created.

A system for preparing a brewed product, the system including a portion capsule containing an extraction material, and an extraction appliance for preparing the brewed product from the extraction material contained in the portion capsule. The extraction appliance has an injection device for introducing a brewing liquid into the portion capsule and an extraction device for driving an extraction product out of the portion capsule. The injection device and the extraction device define between them an accommodation space for the portion capsule. The extraction device has a pressure device, by which a wall of the portion capsule inserted in the accommodation space, which wall faces toward the extraction device, can be pressed in toward the capsule interior in order to compact the extraction material contained in the portion capsule before the injection device introduces brewing liquid into the portion capsule.

A brewing module for an extraction appliance has a first brewing-module part and a second brewing-module part, which can be moved relative to the first. The first and second brewing-module parts form a discharging device for discharging an extraction product out of a capsule, containing extraction substance for the preparation of brewed beverages, and an injector for introducing an extraction liquid into the capsule. The first brewing-module part has a head with a lateral guide, which defines first and second tracks for a capsule collar. The first brewing-module part also forms a rest delimiting movement of the capsule in the downward direction when the capsule collar is located on the first track. The lateral guide is connected rigidly to the head, and the second brewing-module part has a restoring device, which acts on the capsule collar and moves the collar into the second track when the brewing chamber is opened.

Brewing module and method of using same

A coffee capsule is provided, the outer dimensions of which are matched to the size of a filtered-coffee capsule, but which has a separating element that separates an empty area from an extraction-material area. Furthermore, at least one liquid channel is provided, which passes through the empty area for example. The liquid channel or liquid channels and the extraction-material area are designed in such a way that water introduced into the capsule at an injection location or a beverage produced in the capsule substantially does not enter the empty area.

A capsule to form a closed interior filled with an extraction product or extract can be perforated in a known manner by perforation elements of an injection device or a discharge device in order to introduce an extraction liquid and to discharge an extraction product produced in the interior of the capsule following an extraction process. The capsule has the shape of a cuboid or a die.

A discharge device is provided including a supporting surface to rest against a surface region of a capsule as well as at least one perforating element protruding from said supporting surface, wherein a screen element is provided in the supporting surface having a plurality of screen perforations through which the extraction product can be discharged, the extraction product escaping out of the capsule through one of the openings created by the perforating element.

A method for producing a capsule includes providing a plastic main body having a bottom region, a peripheral side wall, and a peripheral main-body collar adjoining the peripheral side wall, wherein the main body has a substantially rectangular cross-section in the region of the main-body collar; providing a deep-drawn plastic cover for closing the capsule, wherein the cover forms an outward curvature, which adjoins a peripheral cover collar; filling the main body with an extraction material; and placing the cover onto the main body such that the cover collar lies on the main-body collar and fastening the cover collar to the main-body collar via ultrasonic welding. The cover is provided with an energy-director, which focuses the ultrasound energy during the ultrasonic welding, and wherein the cover has at least one groove that extends peripherally on an outer face in the region of the cover collar.

The invention relates to a brewing method including providing a capsule into a brewing module with a brewing liquid injector and a brewed product discharging device, said capsule having a covering surfaces on an extraction side and an injection side, said injector having at least one perforation element for each of the injection and extraction sides; closing a brewing chamber of the brewing module so that the at least one perforation element pierces the injection-side covering surface along a cutting line; introducing under pressure a brewing liquid into the region between the injection-side supporting surface and the injection-side covering surface in such a manner that the pressure of the liquid causes the extraction-side covering surface to be displaced towards the interior of the capsule wherein brewing liquid then enters the capsule; and maintaining said pressure until the brewed product emerges from discharge openings produced in the extraction-side covering surface.

Method for preparing a brewed product

A brewing module includes a support element, a first brewing module part and a second brewing module part that can be moved relative to the first brewing module part. The first brewing module part and the second brewing module part have a discharging device for discharging an extraction product from a capsule and an injector for introducing an extraction liquid into the capsule. In a supporting position with the brewing chamber open, the support element catches a capsule inserted via a defined insertion position, such that the capsule lies on the support element and on a support part of the first brewing module part after insertion. By closing the brewing chamber, the support element is moved away from the supporting position into a resting position, wherein the capsule is simultaneously held by a gripping element of the first brewing module part and/or of the second brewing module part.

Capsule for an extraction product, method for the production thereof, and device for brewing coffee

An extraction apparatus includes a brewing module for receiving a capsule with an extraction material. The brewing module includes a first brewing module part and a second brewing module part, the second brewing part being movable relative to the first brewing part. The first and the second brewing module parts form a discharge device for the discharge of an extraction product out of the capsule, and an introduction device for introducing an extraction fluid into the capsule. A sealing system for such an extraction apparatus includes a seal having at least one circumferential sealing lip and/or one circumferential sealing bead, which bears on a surface of the capsule in a line-like or strip-like manner and presses the capsule wall against the capsule interior.
