A light projector module comprises a support, a light source for emitting in a beam path a light beam, a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) mirror for deflecting the emitted light beam, a waveguide having an in-coupling area for receiving the deflected light beam and an out-coupling area for projecting the deflected light beam with enlarged cross section, and a static mirror in the beam path from the light source to the MEMS mirror to fold the beam path about an angle of folding. The static mirror lies beside the first side of the waveguide.

Light projector module

The disclosed subject matter relates to a method of final assembly of a light projector module, including the steps of: providing a base plate, a light source on the base plate, and a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) scanning assembly, wherein the base plate has, between the light source and the MEMS scanning assembly, a mounting surface accessible at one side of the base plate; positioning a set of one or more lenses on the mounting surface and adjusting the position of the one or more lenses of the set while the light source is emitting and at least one light beam projected by the light projector module is monitored in a display area; and mounting the one or more lenses of the set in the adjusted position fixedly on the base plate.

Method of final assembly of a light projector module

The disclosed subject matter relates to a light projector module, comprising: a base plate, a light source on one side of the base plate, a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) scanning assembly on the base plate, and a set of at least one lens mounted on the one side of the base plate between the light source and the MEMS scanning assembly, wherein the MEMS scanning assembly has an arm mounted on and extending from the other side of the base plate, a scanning mirror being movably mounted on the arm and facing the base plate, and wherein a light guide is mounted on the base plate or the arm for directing the at least one light beam from the lens set on the one side to the scanning mirror on the arm extending from said other side of the base plate.

An apparatus for displaying a virtual scene comprises a display wearable on a user's head and a graphics controller configured to calculate, from scene data representing the virtual scene, image data for the display such that the virtual scene is displayed in the environment irrespective of the head's position and pointing direction, the virtual scene appearing in the image data in a region of scene, wherein the graphics controller is configured to modulate excitation signals of a Lissajous scanning mirror assembly, which diverts the light beam of a light source, by modulation signals which are dependent on the region of scene.

Display apparatus

The present disclosed subject matter relates to a display device for displaying an image to an eye, comprising a support mounting a light source and a mirror assembly. The light source is configured to emit a visible light beam carrying the image towards the mirror assembly, and the mirror assembly is configured to angularly oscillate and deflect the emitted visible light beam towards the eye. A light sensor is mounted on the support and configured to record return light received via said mirror assembly from the eye. The display device further comprises a processor connected to the light sensor and configured to detect a state of the eye from the recorded return light.

Display device

A display apparatus comprises a mirror oscillating about a first axis upon excitation by a first excitation signal and about a second axis upon excitation by a second excitation signal, a light source projecting a light beam onto the mirror for deflection towards an image plane, the light source being controller according to pixels read-out by an image processor from a buffer, a gaze tracker detecting a user's region of interest, ROI, within the image plane, and a controller modulating one of the excitation signals by a modulation signal which is dependent on the ROI such that the number of passes of the light beam per unit area is higher in the ROI than in a region outside thereof, wherein the number of pixels read-out per unit area by the image processor is higher in the ROI than in a region outside of the ROI.

A display apparatus comprises a mirror assembly, a first mirror of the mirror assembly oscillating about a first axis upon excitation by a first excitation signal and the first or a second mirror of the mirror assembly oscillating about a second axis upon excitation by a second excitation signal, a light source projecting a light beam onto the mirror assembly for deflection by the mirror assembly towards an image area, the light source being controlled according to pixels of image frames, a gaze tracker detecting a user's region of interest, ROI, within the image area, and a controller modulating one of the excitation signals by a first modulation signal which is dependent on the ROI detected by the gaze tracker.

An augmented reality display for displaying, in addition to a light field of a surrounding, an image to a user's eye, comprises a support, a light source to emit a collimated light beam carrying said image, a micro-electro-mechanical-system, MEMS, mirror to deflect the collimated emitted light beam as a collimated deflected light beam, a waveguide to guide and couple the collimated deflected light beam out as a collimated expanded light beam, and a semitransparent combiner to superpose the collimated expanded light beam as an image light beam with the light field of the surrounding for displaying to the user's eye.
