A soldered product comprising a first component soldered to a second component is provided. The first component comprises a stainless steel substrate, an adhesion promoter layer made of nickel deposited on at least one joining surface of the stainless steel substrate; and a tin layer deposited on the adhesion promoter layer. The tin layer has a layer thickness in the range of 10-30 μm. The second component is typically a rare earth magnet.

Method for pre-treating stainless steel substrates before soldering using nanocrystalline solder foils

A method for plating a stainless steel substrate is provided. According to one embodiment, the method comprises sandblasting at least one joint surface of a stainless steel substrate and treating the joint surface of the stainless steel substrate with an aqueous solution (acid bath) which contains sulfuric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The stainless steel substrate is then rinsed with hydrochloric acid. The method further includes galvanic deposition of a nickel plating on the joining surface of the stainless steel substrate and the subsequent deposition of a tin layer on the nickel-coated joining surface of the stainless steel substrate.

A magnetic component with a rare-earth magnet is provided. The rare-earth magnet has a bronze coating that partially or entirely covers the surface of the rare-earth magnet. Further, the tin coating partially or entirely covers the bronze coating. Composition for an adhesive material

Disclosed herein is a two-component structural adhesive based on organic compounds containing radically polymerizable multiple bonds, in particular substituted acrylates and/or methacrylates, which on account of their lack of acids are particularly suited for adhering rare earth permanent magnets based on neodymium-iron-boron.

The present invention relates to a lacquer composition, particularly an adhesive and corrosion-protective lacquer for rare earth magnets, on the basis of an epoxy resin mixture, a setting accelerator, a silane-based epoxy functional adhesion promoter and a solvent or a solvent mixture, wherein the lacquer composition includes 5 to 20 wt. %, with respect to the amount of solid resin in the base of the epoxy resin mixture, of a highly viscous epoxy resin based on bisphenol-A with an elastomer content of more than 30 wt. %.

Lacquer composition and use thereof

A method for connecting a first joining partner to a second joining partner. After provision of the first joining partner and the second joining partner, a lacquer layer is applied to the first joining partner. Then the first joining partner and the second joining partner are saturated together with an impregnating resin. The lacquer layer is produced from a lacquer composition based on an epoxy resin mixture, a curing accelerator, a silane-based, epoxy-functional bonding agent, and a solvent. The epoxy resin mixture has 10 wt.-% to 94 wt.-% of at least one solid epoxy resin with a maximum epoxy count of 2 Eq/kg, 1 wt.-% to 50 wt.-% of at least one solid, multifunctional epoxy resin with an epoxy count &#x3e;4 Eq/kg, and 5 wt.-% to 40 wt.-% of a phenol and/or kresol novolak with a melting point &#x3e;30&#xb0; C. After impregnation, the viscosity of the impregnating resin is reduced such that the first joining partner and the second joining partner are connected to one another.

Method for connecting two joining partners

A paint composition, in particular an anti-corrosive paint, for rare earth permanent magnets, has an epoxy resin mixture, a curing accelerator, an epoxy-functional adhesion promoter based on silane and a solvent. Due to the paint compositions, rare earth permanent magnets can be bonded simultaneously to a magnet system in a one method step and can be protected against corrosion. Due to the anti-corrosive paint, magnet systems which have excellent anti-corrosion properties, a satisfactory adhesive strength even at high temperatures and display good electric insulation properties, are provided.

The invention relates to a method for producing a sintered material offering improved corrosion protection by activation and coating of the surface with a metal, followed by a heat treatment. Said method is characterized in that during activation and before coating with said metal the following steps are carried out: removal of particles adhering to the surface of the sintered material by treating said surface with a stripper; passivation of the surface; and drying of the sintered material. The invention also relates to a magnetic body with greater corrosion resistance.

Method for improving the corrosion protection of permanent magnets containing rare earth metals

NdFeB magnets are very sensitive to corrosion and are provided, among other things, with a layer of aluminum in order to improve their resistance to corrosion. To improve the resistance of an aluminum-coated article, such as the NdFeB magnet, the magnet with the aluminum coating is subjected to a heat treatment at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the aluminum, which heat treatment improves the resistance to corrosion when subjected to a humid atmosphere at an elevated temperature.

Method for improving the protection against corrosion of a surface

In the manufacture of magnetic data carriers, such for example, hard-disk storages, it must be assured that neither the data carrier itself nor component parts of the data carrier system situated in the proximity has magnetic contaminants. An improved measuring method allows the determination of the magnetic contaminants which were attached to an adhesive tape applied to the surface being examined. The improvement is that a magnetized soft-magnetic measuring substrate has a surface provided with a parting agent which is then brought into contact with the magnetic contaminants adhering to the adhesive tape. A reduction of the remanent field that is produced by this contact represents a criterion for the magnetic contamination of the surface under examination.
