Blind rivet setting device and method. The blind rivet setting device includes a housing; a pulling mechanism arranged in the housing; an electric motor structured and arranged move the pulling mechanism in a pulling direction out of a rivet receiving position; a control device, which is structured and arranged to control the motor, including a tear-off detection device that generates a mandrel tear-off signal when a pulling mandrel is torn off; and an operating device that is connected to the control device. When the mandrel tear-off signal is generated, the control device stops the driving of the pulling mechanism in the pulling direction.

Blind rivet setting device and method for setting a blind rivet

A blind rivet setting device and method of setting a blind rivet. The device includes a housing; a pulling mechanism, arranged in the housing, that includes a chuck housing movable in a pulling direction and clamping jaws movable along a clamping distance in the chuck housing; an electric drive, structured and arranged to act on the chuck housing, that includes a control device; an electric battery structured and arranged as an energy source for the electric drive; and a spring structured and arranged in the chuck housing to apply a force to clamping jaws. For each clamping jaw, the chuck housing includes a guide path with a path base obliquely oriented to the pulling direction, and a back of each clamping jaw is supported against its respective path base over the clamping distance.

Blind rivet setting device

The device includes pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, a switch valve connecting the pneumatic cylinder either to an outlet channel or a pressure supply, and an actuating element to switch the switch valve into a second position connecting a control line, open to the environment until closed by reaching a setting limit, to a pressure supply via a throttle and the switch valve. A pressure control valve having a control chamber connected to the pressure supply is structured so that pressures in the control chamber and the control line act on first and second control surfaces in the first and second switch position directions, respectively. The actuating element relieves pressure on the control chamber to move the pressure control valve into the second switch position to connect a motor line and switch channel of the switch valve to the pressure supply, which switches the switch valve into the first position.

Fastening device

A blind riveting device for placing blind rivets includes a device head, wherein an opening for receiving a rivet bolt and a suction device for producing a negative pressure for holding the rivet bolt in the opening are arranged in the head. A control unit for switching the suction device on and off by an actuating element is provided at a handle which is connected to the head. For facilitating the manipulation of the blind riveting device, the actuating element can be locked in a switched-on position.

A first grip lever is pivotable about a first pivot point relative to the housing. A second grip lever is connected to the housing. A connecting rod mechanism is disposed between the first grip lever and the drawing element. The connecting rod mechanism has a variable transmission ratio.

A blind-rivet setting device, includes a tension device, an intermediate storage and computing device, an evaluation device and an electrical circuit. The tension device is driven by an electric motor having an input current and provides a tensile force on the blind-rivet. The intermediate storage and computing device stores and computes a rated current range depending on the material and dimensions of the blind-rivet. The evaluation device has a comparator for monitoring the input current received by the electric motor. The electrical circuit produces an error message when the maximum value of the input current is not within the rated current range.

A blind rivet nut setting device includes a drawing mandrel, a motor, an interruptible first drive line for producing a rotational motion of the drawing mandrel, and a second drive line for producing an axial motion of the drawing mandrel. The second drive line includes a drive element and an output element. The drive element is axially movable and a portion of its axial movement length corresponds to an idle stroke with respect to the output element and a second portion of its axial movement corresponds to an effective stroke of the output element. The final point of the path of axial movement of the drive element is predetermined so that the effective stroke finishes immediately at the final point. The length of the idle stroke is adjustable.

A blind fastener setting device includes a drawing mechanism and an adjustably supported tip piece. The tip piece has several mandrel guide channels, each of which can be aligned with respect to the drawing mechanism. The tip piece can be easily adjusted without the overall size of the device having to be enlarged to any significant extent. The tip piece has a cross-sectional shape of a polygon which has an uneven number of sides. The mandrel guide channels each extend from a side to the oppositely disposed corner.

Blind fastener setting device

A power tool for the setting of blind rivets has a reversible electric motor which can reciprocate a gripper for the mandrel of a blind rivet through a transmission employing a rotary nut driven by the motor and a spindle which reciprocates the gripper in response to rotation of the nut. The motor is permanently connected with the spindle, and hence with the gripper, and the ratio of the transmission including the nut and the spindle is not dependent upon the position of the gripper. Such construction enhances the comfort to the operator of the power tool. The electric circuit for the motor is designed in such a way that the motor is disconnected from a portable energy source and is braked prior to a reversal in the direction of rotation of its output element.
