A method for pretensioning the membrane of a press, a) providing a press having a first pressing tool, a second pressing tool and a membrane, the first pressing tool and the second pressing tool are movable, the membrane connected to one of the pressing tools, a cavity for a working medium is formed between the membrane and the pressing tool, the cavity is sealed by at least one seal which presses onto the membrane with a sealing force; b) providing at least one workpiece including a matrix and fibres embedded therein; c) inserting the workpiece into the press; d) closing the press; e) subjecting the workpiece to pressure and/or to heat by means of the membrane, a cured shaped part is formed from the workpiece; and f) opening the press and removing the shaped part, which ensures a surface of the membrane is smooth.

Method of prestressing the membrane of a membrane press and press for carrying out this method

The invention relates to a method for producing molded parts from fiber composite material, including the following steps: a) providing a press having a first press tool, a second press tool and a membrane. The first press tool and the second press tool are movable relative to each other. The membrane is connected to one of the press tools, a cavity for a working medium being formed between the membrane and the press tool connected thereto, a working chamber for a workpiece being formed in the other press tool, and the volume of the working chamber being modifiable by a movement of the membrane when the press is closed, b) providing at least one workpiece having a workpiece volume. The workpiece has a matrix and fibers inserted therein, c) inserting the workpiece into the working chamber of the press, d) closing the press. The working chamber takes up a first volume, e) applying pressure and/or temperature to the workpiece by means of the membrane. The working chamber takes up a second volume, a hardened molded part being created from the workpiece, and f) opening the press and removing the molded part. In order to ensure continuous and uniform pressure distribution, according to the invention the first volume of the working chamber is smaller than the workpiece volume, and therefore the workpiece is already compressed at step d) and before step e).

Method for manufacturing moulded parts from fibre composite material

A method for producing a component from a fiber-composite material includes introducing a fiber impregnated with a matrix onto the inner mold of a mold space formed between the inner mold and an outer mold, introducing a separating membrane onto the fiber impregnated with the matrix such that a cavity extending along the lateral surface of the outer mold is formed between the outer mold and the separating membrane, supplying a thermal oil to the cavity at a pressure that is greater than ambient pressure such that the thermal oil acts on the separating membrane at the pressure, heating the thermal oil to above a glass transition temperature of the matrix, and cooling the thermal to below the glass transition temperature of the matrix, wherein the pressure of the thermal oil on the separating membrane is kept substantially constant at least during the cooling to below the glass transition temperature.

Method for producing a component from a fiber-composite material

A method is specified for producing a structural component, in particular for an aircraft, ground vehicle, or watercraft, or for a rotor blade of a wind turbine, in which method an arrangement of fibers and plastic material is laid in a mold and subjected to an increased pressure and an increased temperature, wherein a mold is used which comprises at least one recess in which a reinforcing element is arranged. The object is to be able to cost-effectively produce a structural component of this type. For this purpose, it is provided that the reinforcing element is laid in the recess together with a core, wherein a differential volume between the recess and core, at least in a predetermined region, is chosen such that it is smaller than a segment of the reinforcing element arranged in said region by a predetermined amount.

Method for producing a structural component

A method and a device for producing a component from a fiber composite material. The method includes introducing multiple layers of fibers impregnated with a matrix onto an inner mold, placing a membrane sealed against an outer mold onto the fibers impregnated with the matrix, such that a cavity extending along the shell surface of the outer mold forms between the outer mold and the membrane, and applying a temperature-controllable pressure fluid to the cavity at a temperature greater than the melting point of the matrix and at a pressure greater than the ambient pressure. To produce a component having at least one reinforcing layer, at least one reinforcing layer having fibers oriented in a predominantly parallel manner is placed locally onto a portion of a side of a the base layer facing the outer mold with the aid of an insertion device and a membrane with an average surface roughness of below 1.0 μm, preferably below 0.1 μm, subsequently exerts a set pressure in the cavity on the component.

Method and device for producing a component from a fiber composite material

A press for making a continuous sheet from composite material has upper and lower press belts having respective lower and upper reaches that vertically spacedly confront one another across a press gap having an upstream inlet end and a downstream outlet end, and that have transversely spaced outer edges extending in the direction. The belts are advanced direction and thereby draw a mat of the composite material in the inlet end, compress it into the sheet, and expelling the sheet from the downstream end. Two transversely spaced elastic seal strips extend in the direction in the gap and are each engaged between a respective one of the outer edges of the upper belt and the respective outer edge of the lower belt. Each belt has at each of the edges a surface in engagement with the respective edge strip and having an average peak-to-valley height of less than 1 &#x3bc;m.

Continuous sheet press and method of operating same

The invention relates to a cycle press, in particular a short-cycle press, for producing and/or coating board-shaped materials, in particular engineered wood boards, comprising a press body having several press frames arranged next to one another in the longitudinal press direction, and further comprising an upper press plate and a lower press plate, wherein pressing cylinders supported on the press frames act on the upper press plate or the lower press plate. According to the invention, said cycle press is characterized in that the pressing cylinders are attached to the press frames by means of frame pins, wherein said frame pins engage in cut-outs of the press frames. Thus, the pressing cylinders can be prestressed against the press frames.

Cycle press

A large cylindrically tubular molded part is made by assembling a plurality of inner segments into a tubularly cylindrical mold inner part having an outer surface centered on an axis and then juxtaposing reinforcing fibers with the outer surface. Then a plurality of outer segments are assembled into a tubularly cylindrical mold outer part coaxial with the mold inner part and having an inner surface radially confronting the outer surface of the inner part and forming therewith a mold cavity containing the reinforcing fibers. Multiple turns of prestressing cables are then wound under tension around the outer mold part to press the outer segments angularly together and the cavity is with a hard-curing plastic that is cured in the cavity to form the molded part reinforced with the reinforcing fibers. The inner segments are radially inwardly and the outer segments radially outwardly retracted then to demold the molded part.

Method and device for producing large cylindrical structures

The invention relates to an installation for applying glue to fibers for the production of fiberboard, especially MDF board or similar wood material board. Said installation comprises a fiber feed unit having at least one fiber feed conduit which opens into a fiber exit tube via a fiber deflection element and receives the air that is used to transport the fibers, a chute which is located downstream of the fiber exit tube, a glue application device which has spray nozzles for spraying the fibers that emerge from the fiber exit tube and enter the chute with drops of glue, and a collection device, located downstream of the chute and having an air-permeable transport belt for collecting and optionally carrying off the fibers and a suction device located below the transport belt for suctioning air from the chute through the transport belt, the suction device having one or more suction boxes to which one or more suction pipes are connected. The installation is characterized in that the suction boxes are configured as cleaning boxes having at least one cleaning device for removing fibers that enter the suction boxes through the transport belt.

Installation for applying glue to fibers for the production of fiberboard

The invention relates to a method of pressing pressing-material mats during the production of wood-material panels in a continuous press, wherein the continuous press has upper and lower heating plates, upper and lower entry plates, which project on the entry side and form an entry mouth, and, in the upper and lower parts of the press, endlessly circulating steel pressing belts which, with the interposition of rolling bars, are supported on the entry plates and the heating plates, wherein the height hof the entry gap and, possibly, the entry contour of the entry mouth are set, and wherein a pressing-material mat, which is produced, and possibly pretreated, in a spreading station arranged upstream of the press, is introduced into the continuous press and pressed therein. This method is characterized in that the entry-gap height is checked, set and/or regulated in dependence on the density and/or the weight per unit area of the pressing-material mat.

Method and apparatus for pressing particle mats

The invention relates to an installation for applying glue to fibers for the production of fiberboard, especially MDF board or similar wood material board. Said installation comprises a fiber feed unit having at least one fiber feed conduit which opens into a fiber exit tube via an arched fiber deflection element and receives the air that is used to transport the fibers, a chute which is located downstream of the fiber exit tube, a glue application device which is located e.g. between the fiber exit tube and the chute and which has spray nozzles for spraying the fibers that emerge from the fiber exit tube and enter the chute with drops of glue, and a collection device, located downstream of the chute and having a transport device for collecting and optionally carrying off the fibers. The installation is characterized in that at least a part of the fiber deflection conduit is configured as a subdivided conduit having a plurality of partial conduits, said conduit being subdivided by one or more dividing walls that extend in the axial direction.

The invention relates to an installation for applying glue to fibers for the production of fiberboard, especially MDF board or similar wood material board. The installation is characterized in that the spray nozzles or at least some of the spray nozzles can be transferred from a standby position to a working position and vice versa for applying glue to the fibers.

Apparatus for applying glue to fibers for making fiberboard

A press for crimping longitudinal edges of a plate for the manufacture of pipe has a closed press frame, an upper press platen, and a lower press platen extending longitudinally through the frame. A pair of transversely spaced and transversely shiftable upper supports are provided on the upper platen, and a pair of transversely spaced and transversely shiftable lower supports on the lower platen. Respective upper dies are fixed in the upper supports and have downwardly directed lower faces, and respective lower dies are fixed in the lower supports and have upwardly directed upper faces. A piston/cylinder assembly braced between the frame and one of the platens and pressurizable to shift the one platen vertically toward the other of the platens. Hydraulic actuators may position the holders and their dies transversely and also lock them in place.

Plate-crimping press for making pipe

A press for pressing a mat into a thin panel has a press frame, upper and lower press plates on the frame, and upper and lower press belts having confronting lower and upper stretches defining a press gap extending in a horizontal and longitudinal transport direction and respectively running below and above the upper and lower press plates. Upper and lower flexible intake plates are juxtaposed respectively above and below upstream ends of the lower and upper stretches of the belts and define therewith a downstream portion of an intake mouth flaring upstream. Upper and lower rollers are respectively braced against the upper and lower stretches of the belts at an upstream portion of the intake mouth immediately upstream of the downstream portion of the intake mouth. Further actuators connected to the rollers set a shape of the upstream portion of the intake mouth.

Continuous belt-type board press

The roller bar chains of a continuous press for producing pressed board provided sufficient play for the roller bars relative to the link chains by having the journaling pins for the link chains extending through bushings which articulate the overlapping link plates together, so that the outer diameters of the pins within these bushings are less than the inner diameters of the bushings. The result is that the roller bar chain has only a single guide plane in the press region between the two press plates.
