A device and method for bending a glass pane. The device includes a gravity bending mould with a supporting surface, which is suitable for arranging a glass pane thereon; and an upper shaping tool arranged opposite the supporting surface. The upper shaping tool is suitable for producing an overpressure on the top surface of the glass pane arranged on the supporting surface. The top surface faces away from the supporting surface. The shaping tool has a cover that forms a hollow space open in the direction of the gravity bending mould and is equipped with means for introducing a gas into the hollow space in order to produce the overpressure. The hollow space is divided by a separating wall into two subspaces such that a different pressure can be produced in two regions of the surface. The shaping tool is equipped with a common gas feed line, and the separating wall extends to the common gas feed line.

Overpressure-assisted gravity bending method and device suitable therefor

A device for bending panes is described. The device has a pre-bending ring, a movable bending ring holder, a final bending ring, a preheating region for preheating at least one pane, a pre-bending region for a further bending of the at least one pane, a heating region for a final bending of an edge of the at least one pane and for a surface pre-bending of the at least one pane, a second bending region for a further surface bending of the at least one pane and a cooling region.

Method and device for bending sheets

A transparent pane having an electrically heatable coating is described. The transparent pane is electrically connected to at least two first electrodes provided for electrical connection to two terminals of a voltage source. A heating field includes at least one coating-free zone. At least one second electrode is provided for electric connection to one terminal of the voltage source. A method for manufacturing the transparent pane is also described.

A pane with an electrical connection element is described. The pane can have a glass substrate and an electrically conductive structure on the substrate. Solder material can be used to electrically connect a connection element to the electrically conductive structure.

A method for bending a sheet is described. The method includes the following steps: a) at least one sheet is inserted into a pre-bending ring with a movable bending ring holder, the movable bending ring holder is moved into a furnace and the at least one sheet is heated to softening temperature and is pre-bent to 5% to 50% of a final edge bending, b) the at least one sheet is lifted by means of a suction device and is bent further, beyond the bending obtained in the pre-bending ring, c) the at least one sheet is laid down by means of the suction device in a final-bending ring on the movable bending ring holder and is bent to the final edge bending, and an area pre-bending of the at least one sheet is performed by means of thermal irradiation, d) the at least one sheet is lifted out of the final-bending ring by means of a second suction device, pressed against an opposing mould and bent, and the at least one sheet is laid down on the final-bending ring and the at least one sheet is cooled down.

The invention relates to a glass roof for a motor vehicle essentially forming an entire roof surface between the front and rear vehicle-roof cross members. The glass panel can be connected fixedly to the vehicle body and can have one or several cutout openings fitted with an openable glass pane.

A transparent glazing unit including a resistive heating coating that extends over a substantial part of the glazing unit, in particular over a main viewing field, and is electrically connected to at least two busbars such that, when an electrical supply voltage is applied between the busbars, a current flows, which heats a heating field in the coating. The heating field includes at least one semiresistive region in direct contact with at least one busbar.

In a laminated glass sheet with a fixing device introduced into a through-hole for objects, particularly for antennas, the through-hole is made up of holes of different sizes in two rigid sheets of the lamination, and the fixing device includes at least two parts introduced into the through-hole, pressing against surfaces around the edge of the through-hole, which surfaces are situated one facing the other. The two parts of the fixing device press from both sides against the surfaces around the edge surrounding the smaller hole made in the sheet, in that region of the walls of a smaller hole that exhibits an edge compression stress that is increased by heat treatment by comparison with the remainder of the surface of the sheet.
