The invention relates to a method and a device for exchanging data on the basis of the OPC communications protocol, wherein at least one OPC-ready server is connected parallel to a master OPC server. An OPC client is connected to the master OPC server over a first communications link and to at least one OPC-ready server via at least one second communications link. The OPC client exchanges data over the first communications link and the master OPC server, and over at least the second communications link and at least one OPC-ready server with automatic devices, and evaluates the data transmitted by the master OPC server and at least one OCT-ready server. In the event of failure, the master OPC server is at least partially switched over from the OPC client to at least one OPC-ready server such that the program continues to run smoothly in the same place.

For reducing the packeting time for the through-connection across the ATM exchange, information coming from an STM exchange and to be switched via an ATM exchange to a further STM exchange is packeted either into message cells that are shorter in comparison to standardized message cells used for the transmission between ATM exchanges or into message cells of the same length wherein, however, respective message parts of a plurality of STM channels that are to be through-connected to the same ATM output are multiplexed in a message cell. Given local exchanges (ATM-V) having decentralized line units (SLUR) for the connection of subscriber lines, the message cells of a plurality of STM channels are packeted multiplexed thereat without taking the exchange destination into consideration. A conversion into one of the aforementioned message cells that deviate from the standard cells then occurs in the exchange.

Line terminal groups are redundantly present for reliability reasons. The connecting through of the input lines to the switching matrix network can thereby proceed via different signal paths. In order to avoid disturbances during switch-over between signal paths, the appertaining interfaces are provided with compensation memories. The data contained in the compensation memories are written in or read out in a phase-synchronized and frame-synchronized manner with a uniform clock. The uniform clock is acquired from the electronic switching device base clock of the system. Due to transient time distortions and component tolerances, the base clock must be regenerated with the circuit arrangement of the invention before it is applied to the compensation memories.

In a circuit configuration for clock-controlled time division multiplex telecommunications switching installations, including PCM telephone switching installations with central switching network and connected subswitching networks, line groups are connected to a central switching network via time division multiplex lines and have one subswitching network and one group control unit each are pairwise assigned to each other. Line units which are individually assigned to the one or the other of two line groups are, in normal operation, connected to the subswitching network of their own line group and can be changed over to the subswitching network of the particular other line group in standby operation. In a circuit arrangement for telecommunications exchanges, including PCM time division multiplex telephone exchanges with a central switching array and connected subordinate switching arrays, line terminal groups connected to a central switching network by way of link connections where each line terminal group has its own subordinate switching array and a group control unit are arranged in pairs. Within each line terminal group, there is terminal equipment for connection of outside lines on the one hand, and on the other hand link terminating circuits for the link connections to the central switching array can also be switched from the subordinate switching array of the respective line terminal group to that of the partner line terminal group. Terminal equipment and link terminating circuits as well a subordinate control units with subordinate switching arrays are equipped with three internal power supply systems and three internal clock pulse supply systems per line terminal group. The terminal equipment, subordinate control system with subordinate switching array and link terminating circuits all operate in plesiochronous operation. In a switching operation, the clock pulse supply of the terminal equipment being switched receives its master clock pulse from the subordinate control system of the partner line terminal group.

A circuit arrangement for telecommunication switching systems, including PCM time division multiplex telephone switching systems, with double central switching matrix by which two corresponding line trunk groups comprising a sub-switching matrix each and a group control unit each, are allocated to each other in pairs via two time-division-multiplex lines. The line units and the PCM-lines leading to the central switching matrix, which are individually respectively allocated to the two line trunk groups, and which are connected with the respective sub-switching matrix of their own line trunk group during normal service, are switchable, during emergency service of one of the two line trunk groups, to the sub-switching matrix of the respective other line trunk group. In order that no calls already interconnected via the line units of the affected line trunk group up to the time of the switch-over are interrupted, each local control unit transmits all call data of interconnected calls to its associated control unit while still in normal service, on which basis the appertaining calls are securely interconnected within the sub-switching matrix of the associated line trunk group.

A switching configuration for PCM TDM telecommunication exchange insallations, having a central switching network and individual sub-switching networks is provided. Line groups having duplicated central switching networks connected over two time division multiplex lines and having a sub-switching network and a group control system each are assigned to each other in pairs. The line systems assigned individually to the one and the other of two line groups and which are connected via internal lines in normal operation to the sub-switching networks of their own line group, can be switched over to the sub-switching network of the other line group. No connections are interrupted which were already through-connected before changeover switching or were in the process of being set up, and the internal lines running form the line system of one line group can be switched over singly, i.e. individually to the connection, from its sub-switching network to that of the partner line group. Unseized internal lines are switched over, or also connections in the call phase are through-connected. For new connections, only already switched-over internal lines are available.
