A holder made of plastic for vibration-insulating attachment of an oblong object such as a pipe or the like to a vehicle includes a base part with a bolt-accommodating opening and retainer parts that have a U-shaped retaining section with a recess that has a hollow inner surface and an insertion opening at which a resilient retaining finger is provided, which is able to hold an oblong object in the recess. The retainer parts are connected to the base part by means of thin, flexible wall elements. The base part has a frame with openings and the apex regions of the retaining sections on the side opposite from the insertion opening can move into these openings.

A holding element for fastening in a hole of a carrier part has a central shaft extending along a longitudinal axis, a supporting part fastened to the far end of the shaft and projecting laterally, and at least one arm, a fastening end of which is fastened movable to the shaft. The arm extends transverse to the longitudinal axis and for some distance from the shaft and in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis is supportable on the supporting part and in the opposite direction is supportable on a guide part fastened to the front end of the shaft.

A plastic nut has raised regions forming retaining elements for retaining the nut in a socket of a tool. The retaining elements are formed at corners or faces of a polygonal tool engagement region. Tapered rib retaining elements may be formed at alternate corners, or wedge retaining elements may be formed at alternate faces.

A plastics pipe clip comprising at least one article-securing member carried on a support mount adapted to be engaged on a stud projecting from a surface to which the pipe is to be secured having the article-securing member mounted on a flexible bridge member carried by the support mount. The flexible bridge member may straddle the support mount or the support mount may be offset and located at or towards one end of the flexible bridge member. The flexible bridge member may be carried between two rounded, flexing elements attached directly or indirectly to the support mount. A plurality of article-securing members may be mounted on the flexible bridge member and these may be sized to carry pipes and cables of similar diameter or pipes and cables of different diameters.

A plastics push button for fastening an article such as trim strip or body panel to a motor body using weld studs attached to the surface of the motor body comprises a large circular retaining head at one end of a short, hollow cylindrical stem and a circular skirt at or near the other end of the stem, the diameter of the skirt being substantially equal to the diameter of mounting holes provided around a panel or at intervals along the length of a trim strip and the diameter of the head being greater than that of mounting holes, the skirt being provided with a plurality of protruding, resilient fringe members which can lightly engage the rim of a mounting hole and the bore of the cylindrical stem being provided with resilient fingers which can engage the projections of a weld stud when the push button is pressed through a mounting hole so that the cylindrical head abuts the top surface of the article and the cylindrical stem passes through the mounting hole and is pressed over the weld stud so that the article is thereby retained on the surface of the sheet to which the stud is welded. For some applications, such as the application of body panels, the skirt may be provided at the end of the stem remote from the retaining head but for other applications the skirt may be provided on the stem a short distance from that end.
