The invention relates to a rack-and-pinion steering, including a toothed rack having a longitudinal axis, a toothed rack housing in which the toothed rack is guided for axial displacement between two end stops, and an end stop damping assembly which includes at least one stop ring and at least one elastic compression body, the compression body surrounding the toothed rack, and its spring/damping section having an axial length in a non-loaded condition. The stop ring has a continuously surrounding axial guide extension which is located radially inside in relation to the compression body and which has an axial length that is smaller than the axial length of the spring/damping section of the compression body.

Rack-and-pinion steering

A ball joint which comprises a joint housing, a bearing shell received in the joint housing, and a ball stud having a ball head arranged for pivoting movement in the bearing shell. A ball joint, particularly a radial ball joint, includes a housing, a bearing shell which is arranged in the housing, and a ball pin having a ball head which is arranged in the bearing shell, the housing having a mounting opening to receive the bearing shell and the ball head, the mounting opening being closed by a housing cover which is fastened to the housing. The bearing shell is deformed by the ball head and the housing cover such that the restoring force resulting from the deformation urges the ball head away from the housing cover and prestresses it against the housing.

A ball joint, particularly an axial joint, having a housing, a bearing shell which is arranged in the housing, and a ball pin with a ball head which is arranged in the bearing shell, is characterized in that the bearing shell is bent open elastically by the ball head so that the restoring force resulting from its deformation applies a prestress onto the ball head which attempts to press the latter out of the housing.
