A drive for a control valve has a drive force unit, a yoke for connecting to a valve in a fixed manner, a drive spindle for transmitting the movement of the drive force unit to the valve and a sensor unit for detecting the position of the valve. The sensor unit includes a magnetic track with a reoccurring structure which is integrated into the drive spindle, a sensor which is connected to the yoke of the drive in the vicinity of the magnetic track, which is suitable for detecting the changing magnetic field lines and at least one permanent magnet in the area of the magnetic track and the sensor, whose magnetic field lines penetrate both the magnetic track and the sensor.

An apparatus for controlling and monitoring actuators with an open/close characteristic consists of a first unit having a drive switch unit for operating a drive force unit, at least one limit signal generator that detects an end position of an actuator of the drive force unit and an electronic unit, such as a microprocessor, which first unit is connected to a second unit by a twin-core cable, and the second unit includes an apparatus for operating the drive switch unit and for outputting the state of the limit signal generator.

Apparatus for controlling and monitoring actuators with an open/close characteristic

The present invention is directed to an electrical field device of the pressure-resistant encapsulation type of protection for use in areas at risk of explosion and has at least a first and second mechanically and electrically coupled modules. The first module includes a connection space for the connection of the field device in an explosion-hazard area with safety barrier arranged therein and has a housing of the type of protection of the pressure-resistant encapsulation. The second module includes a field device of the self-secured type of protection and the electrical connection between the two modules comprises an arc-over-proof lead bushing, and the electrical signal connections of the second module are realized via the lead bushing.

A method and apparatus for operational monitoring of an actuator, which has a drive force unit that requires a characteristic time for build-up of the force, the apparatus including at least one position signal generator detecting a rest position of the actuator, a drive switch unit for actuating the drive force unit, and signal connections to an analyzing arrangement having a memory and a comparison unit so that, during operation, the time difference between the actuation of the drive switch unit and the possible response of the position signal generator allocated to the preceding rest limit position of the actuator is monitored, a comparison of the measured quantity to characteristic data deposited in the memory is implemented and a conclusion about the condition of the actuator is obtained from this analyzation.

Method and apparatus for monitoring actuators

The invention relates to a control apparatus, comprising an actuating drive and an actuator connected therewith, whereby the actuator comprises at least one valve face and a throttle element that works herewith. The throttle element can be moved relative to the valve face by means of an actuating spindle connected with the actuating drive for the execution of a rotational and/or piston motion. The actuating spindle is sealed against the valve interior chamber at a first sealing location. A second sealing location likewise seals the actuating spindle, and, between the two sealing locations. There is a test chamber that is accessible via at least one control terminal, to which chamber a pressure sensor is connected. The pressure sensor is connected with an evaluation unit for monitoring the operation of the control apparatus. The signal output of the pressure sensor can be compared, in the evaluation unit, with a response threshold dependent on at least one temperature signal, for the outputting of an error status message to an error status output of the evaluation unit.

Control apparatus

An electrical-pneumatic system has a controller which has an input terminal for a reference variable signal, an input terminal for a regulating variable or feedback signal and an output terminal for a manipulated variable signal, which preferably is a pulse-width modulated signal. The controller will actuate a drive unit of an electrical-pneumatic pre-control unit, which has a 3/2 directional control valve that responds to the pulse-width modulated signal from the controller. The output of the 3/2 directional control valve is smoothed by being passed through a throttle and into a volume, and a pneumatic booster is connected downstream from the volume. The output of the pneumatic booster is sensed and provides the feedback signal.

Electrical-pneumatic system

Electropneumatic position controller having two solenoid operated pneumatic valves, each of which is respectively provided with a regulating pressure nozzle, an exhaust nozzle, a discharge line leading to a power amplifier, and a hinged armature that is driven by an electromagnetic system and alternatively closes the regulating pressure nozzle or the exhaust nozzle, characterized in that the solenoid valves each respectively comprise a channel that communicates with their exhaust nozzle and can be manually closed, the respective power amplifier being capable of being switched as a result of the closing of said channel even without electrical excitation of the magnet system.

Electropneumatic position controller

Position control for pneumatic positioning devices and the like, comprising a sensing lever linked to the drive rod of the positioning device and comprising a measuring lever acting on a measuring system, whereby the one lever is seated on a position control axle with positive lock or form-fit and the other lever is seated on said position control axle with non-positive lock, and comprising at least one detent acting on the measuring lever with which the sensing lever and the measuring lever are brought into an angle relative to one another that corresponds to a zero setting.

Position controller

A pneumatic control valve comprises a position controller and a valve which is influenced by the controller. A valve member can be lifted by means of a servomotor which is securely connected to the valve housing by means of a yoke, the servomotor being connected to the valve member by means of a valve rod. The lift position of the valve rod is sensed by means of a rotatable lever of the position controller, which rotatable lever is in a working connection with the valve rod by means of an articulated device. A housing encloses the valve rod, the lever and the articulated device.

Pneumatic control valve

A pneumatic drive mechanism for use with positioning apparatus or the like, having a drive housing, a drive element such as diaphragm disk, piston or the like, movably seated therein and rigidly connected to a drive rod or similar device. The drive element is responsive to compressed air on one side thereof and to forces from at least one spring operating in opposed action to the compressed air. The spring is arranged within the drive housing. The drive mechanism also has a signal processing device such as a position controller, position encoder, limit signal generator, solenoid valve or i/p converter or similar devices. The signal processing device or devices are integrated within the drive housing in an accomodation space which is free of the spring or springs, of the drive rod and of the drive element.

Pneumatic drive mechanism for positioning apparatus

There is disclosed herein an apparatus for converting mechanical quantities, such as mechanical force, into an electrical signal by a mechanism which minimizes explosion possibilities. The mechanism includes a transmission rod which passes through a circular passageway in a wall that separates the mechanical and electrical sections of the apparatus, the transmission rod being tiltable within the passageway to transmit mechanical movement to the electrical section of the apparatus.

A damping system, more specially, for measuring and automatic control systems takes the form of mass of damping liquid placed between two parts which may be moved in relation to each other and which are to be damped. By the selection of the damping liquid, as for example a silicone oil, and of the form and size of the space between the two moving parts and, furthermore, of the properties of the two parts touched by the liquid, it is possible to make certain that the liquid is kept in place by surface tension effects, that is to say because of its own surface tension and the surface tension properties of the lining faces touched by it. The damping unit may take the form of two, more specially frusto-conical plates, able to be moved in relation to each other and of which one may undergo adjustment by using a threaded rod and a lock nut. Furthermore, as a further development of the invention, the damping liquid may be kept in an open-sided but otherwise pot-like space between an U-shaped female part and a male part, able to be moved vibratingly within it. As a still further development, the female part has a through-hole and the male part is placed within it. A larger or smaller amount of the damping liquid may then be forced by a piston into the space between the male and female parts.

In the case of a pressure-worked automatic control system with a closed loop, and, more specially, a position automatic control system, the position of a servo-element is dependent on a spring placed between the servo-element or servo-motor and the sensing unit of the position automatic control system. The spring, placed between the servo-element or servo-motor and the sensing unit of the position automatic control system, is made up of at least one spiral spring, whose one end is able to be turned by a moving servo-part of the servo-element or servo-motor, while its other end is designed for acting on the sensing unit of the position automatic control system.
