A support member for at least one piece of heavy medical equipment in a medical diagnostic station is made of fiber-reinforced plastic, and has a cross section which is longer in one direction than the other. The fiber-reinforced plastic serves as a shell surrounding a molding member, which may be lightweight plastic material, such that the fiber-reinforced plastic bears the loading on the member. The support member may be disposed for adjustable movement along its length by having metal guides received in the rollers of a carriage.

A transmission link which couples data from a mobile x-ray apparatus to image electronics is provided with a data coupling, and a data plug is allocated to the x-ray apparatus and a data socket is allocated to the image electronics, such that data may be transmitted between the x-ray apparatus and the image electronics. The transmission link can include wireless transmission of image data from a mobile x-ray diagnostic apparatus, with an optical transmitter allocated to the x-ray apparatus and a wireless receiver allocated to the image electronics.

X-ray diagnostics installation

The invention is directed to a stand for an x-ray examination apparatus comprising a telescoping column that, for example, guides an x-radiator adjustably in the direction of its longitudinal axis and comprises at least three tubular telescope parts joined inside one another, whereby the telescope parts are coupled such to one another that, given adjustment of the x-radiator, the same relative displacement occurs between respectively two telescope parts adjacent to one another and whereby respective stops are provided between telescope parts adjacent to one another. Adjustment devices are thereby provided with which the position of the telescope parts is adjustable such relative to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the telescoping column that all stops take effect essentially simultaneously and the adjustment devices are fashioned and arranged such that they are actuatable without dismantling the telescoping column.

Stand for an x-ray examination apparatus comprising a telescoping column

The invention relates to a ceiling mount for an X-ray radiator comprising a carriage carrying said X-ray radiator, the carriage being displaceably guided in rails. For the purpose of locking the carriage, a friction block motor-displaceable perpendicular to the rail direction is attached to the carriage, this friction block being secured to a holder resiliently seated perpendicular to the rail. The holder comprises a latch facing the rail which interacts with corresponding latches on the rail of the carriage. The holder is thereby adjustable in three positions. In the first position, free mobility of the carriage is possible; in the second position, a resilient latching ensues when the latches on the rail are traversed; and in the third position, the friction block is pressed against the rail for locking the position of the carriage.

Ceiling mount for an X-ray radiator

The medical couch contains a lower frame, an upper frame for carrying a table top, and a link mechanism interconnecting both frames. The link mechanism includes pivotally interconnected support arms which are operated in a scissor action to lift and lower the upper frame with respect to the lower frame. An electronic motor drive system containing an electric motor and a lead screw is provided for performing such operation. The drive system is pivotally connected to the lower frame such that the lead screw extends towards the upper frame. The pivoting axis is arranged horizontally. A nut element which is mounted on the lead screw travels therealong when the motor is in operation. The nut element is provided for supporting the link mechanism and pivotally connected therewith. The nut element will be pivoted about an upper horizontal axis when it travels along the lead screw. The nut element moves the upper frame to a selected horizontal position above and parallel to the lower frame.

Medical couch

The collimator assembly comprises a collimator shielding block for blocking undesired X-rays and an insert piece inserted into the shielding block. The insert piece which is made of a material of high atomic number, has an inner conical surface which defines the X-ray cone transmitting the insert piece and therefore the maximum field size which can be obtained for medical treatment. In order to supply different maximum field sizes, there are provided means for easily interchanging the insert in the collimator shielding block with another insert having a different interior conical dimension. By using inserts of different cone angles, which can easily be inserted into the shielding block, for instance by means of a screw thread from below the shielding block, morbid tissues of different sizes can be treated while the surrounding healthy tissue is fully protected.

Collimator assembly for an electron accelerator

The collimator assembly comprises a collimator shielding block for blocking undesired X-rays and an insert piece inserted into the shielding block. The insert piece, which is made of a material of high atomic number, has an inner conical surface which defines the X-ray cone transmitting the insert piece and therefore the maximum field size which can be obtained for medical treatment. In order to supply different maximum field sizes, there are provided means for easily interchanging the insert in the collimator shielding block with another insert having a different interior conical dimension. By using inserts of different cone angles, which can easily be inserted into the shielding block, for instance by means of a screw thread from below the shielding block, morbid tissues of different sizes can be treated while the surrounding healthy tissue is fully protected.

The target assembly contains a metal plate which has two end faces, a recess in one of these end faces, a target for generating X-rays when hit by high-energy electrons, and a cooling channel in the metal plate for directing a cooling medium therethrough. The target is arranged in the recess of the metal plate such that the recess is divided into two chambers. The cooling channel passes through these two chambers thereby exposing the target directly to the cooling medium when the latter flows through the cooling channel.

Target assembly for a linear accelerator

A gamma camera has a plurality of exchangeable collimators, one of which is replaceably mounted in the ray inlet opening of the camera, while the others are placed on separate supports. The invention is particularly characterized in that the supports are swingably mounted upon a column one above the other. In the illustrated embodiment, the camera is swingable through about 90.degree. to a collimator exchange position, and each of the separate supports is swingable to a vertically aligned position, with resilient limiting of the swinging movement and resilient positioning of the support at the desired exchange position. Further, the collimators are carried on the supports by means of a series of vertically disposed coil springs, projections on the camera being relatively movable from above into grooves of the collimator at the exchange position, whereupon the collimator is so turned that it is securely prevented from falling out of the camera head.

Gamma camera

A gamma camera has a plurality of exchangeable collimators, one of which is replaceably mounted in the ray inlet opening of the camera, while the others are placed on separate supports. The invention is particularly characterized in that the supports are swingably mounted upon a column one above the other.

A ray diagnosing device for determining the distribution of radioactive substances in a body has a measuring head containing the ray probe, means for moving the head for a scanning line by line of the part to be examined, a setting device for the line distance and a printer actuated by the ray probe for inscribing an image corresponding to the activity distribution upon a writing sheet. The invention is particularly characterized in that the printer has a number of printing keys each of which is made to correspond to a specific line spacing and that there is an adjusting device for selectively switching on and off each one of the keys.
