Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for routing radio-frequency identification (RFID) location data from an RFID tag reader to a record-keeping unit. A first tagging entry is received from a first record-keeping unit. The information associated with the first tagging entry is stored in a data store. A first set of location data is received, indicating that the RFID tag of the first item has been read by an RFID tag reader. It is algorithmically determined that the received location data corresponds to the first tagging entry received from the first record-keeping unit. The first set of location data is communicated to the first record-keeping unit.

Intelligent routing of radio-frequency identification data

Systems, methods, and storage media useful in a healthcare computing platform to build and publish an integrated medical consultation report to a patient's primary electronic medical record are provided. The integrated medical consultation report presents up-to-date objective medical factors from the patient's medical record concurrently with a subjective medical summary from an authoring clinician. The integrated medical consultation report is stored as a unique medical document in the patient's primary electronic record.

The present invention relates to computerized methods and systems for automatically documenting fluid intake and output events for a patient. In one method, a fluid balance event is extracted, an impact value associated with the fluid balance event is received, and a database is populated with the fluid balance event and associated impact value. In another method, a clinical event is received and analyzed to determine whether the event has an impact on the patient's overall fluid balance. If the event is determined to have an impact on the fluid balance, the event is managed as a fluid balance event and an impact value is received for the event. A fluid balance is then updated for the patient using the received impact value.

Automatic documentation of patient intake and output events in a computerized healthcare environment

Systems and methods for operably coupling medical device(s) together with an evaluation device such that closed-loop processing may occur are provided. To achieve closed-loop processing, the evaluation device is configured to receive diagnostic information related to physiological attributes of a patient and operational-status information of the medical device(s). Upon receipt of this information, the evaluation device may automatically analyze the data and automatically compose instructions based on the analysis. Analyzing includes comparing the data against content within an electronic medical record (EMR) or applying rules to the data. The rules are built on evidence-based medical procedures consistent with current medical practice. The instructions, when distributed and implemented, invoke actions at the medical device(s), such as dispensing a medication and reprogramming configuration settings, as well as actions at a notification component configured to request a healthcare professional to intervene in a patient's treatment and to provide feedback of medical events.

Automated analysis of data collected by in-vivo devices

The present invention relates to a method of holding laboratory test results in a computerized environment. A first laboratory test result is received, and is related to one or more other laboratory tests that comprise a healthcare order. It is determined whether the test results of the order have been received. If they have all been received, the test results are compared to predefined criteria and are determined to be considered normal. Once determined to be considered normal, the order is automatically verified. If the tests results of the healthcare order have not all been received, the first laboratory test result is held until all of the test results have been received.

System and method for automatically verifying multiple laboratory test results in a computerized environment

Invoking of one or more clinical orders for a particular patient is driven by an infection risk stratification. According to an associated method, infection risk factors for a patient are assessed. The method also includes determining correlations between patient data and two or more particular categories of infection risk associated with the infection risk factors, stratifying infection risk for the patient based on the correlations determined, and determining specific clinical orders relevant for the particular patient based on the stratification.

Person centric infection risk stratification

A system and method provide for determining a patient's infection risk associated with a specific healthcare provider encounter. The method incorporates the steps of assessing infection risk factors for a particular patient and comparing those factors to a set of benchmark infection risk factors derived from historical patient outcomes data. Based on the results of the comparison the infection risk assessment for the particular patient is determined and displayed.

System and method for determining a person centric infection risk associated with encountering a healthcare provider

A system and method provide for determining and displaying on a user interface a patient's infection risk associated with a specific healthcare provider encounter. Specifically, a patient's infection risk assessment is presented in the form of a graphical representation of a set of infection risk values determined through utilization of a set of benchmark infection risk factors. Each infection risk value is associated with a particular point in time. This provides a visualization of changes in infection risk over time for the patient.

In accordance with one method in a clinical computing environment, a command to initiate a share event for an anatomic pathology case is received. One or more share recipients are determined manually and/or automatically for the share event. In addition, whether any physical case materials and/or electronic case materials are associated with the anatomic pathology case is determined. If any physical case materials and/or electronic case materials are associated with the anatomic pathology case, share recipient access to the materials is coordinated. After each share recipient reviews the case, the share recipient may enter comments.

An on-line approach to coordinating intradepartmental anatomic pathology consultations is provided. In accordance with one method in a clinical computing environment, a command to initiate the share event for the anatomic pathology case is received. Review of the anatomic pathology case by one or more share recipients is then coordinated by the system. Coordination of the share event may include tracking the location of physical case materials associated with the anatomic pathology case. Finally, the system may receive an indication that the share event for the anatomic pathology case has been completed.

A computerized system and method for allowing restricted access to patient healthcare information is provided. Upon determining that one or more users are assigned to the location where an order for a patient is to be performed, the method allows one or more users restricted access to the order. The system includes an order entry module, an access evaluation module, a location entry module and a user module. The access evaluation module includes an assignment determination sub-module for determining whether one or more users are assigned to the specified location where an order for a patient is to be performed. The assignment determination module also includes a restricted access sub-module coupled with the assignment determination module and configured to allow restricted access to one or more users assigned to the specified location.
