A water treatment tank for treating waste water using an electrochemical treatment process. The electrochemical process removes both suspended and dissolved solids in the water and allows the treated water to be removed from the tank for reuse or discharge. The tank includes a tank housing with first and second waste water receiving compartments. The two compartments are identical and are used alternately when treating the waste water. A waste water inlet line is attached to the top of the first compartment for filling the compartment with waste water. A side of the first compartment includes an annular opening for receiving an electrode assembly with a plurality of electrodes extending inside the compartment for treating the waste water electrochemically. The electrodes are attached to the power supply via electrode cables with the polarity of a current cycle reversed periodically depending on the types of water contaminates being treated. When the cycle is reversed, the contaminates gather on the electrodes typically fall to the bottom of the tank as sludge and are drained into a removable filter basket. The compartments also include an airline connected to an air spray manifold. The air spray manifold is used for circulating air bubbles upwardly in and around the electrodes for providing a scrubbing effect and carrying away contaminates that might gather on the electrodes.

Tank batch electrochemical water treatment process

A water/sludge filter press used with a filter bag for filtering water and collecting sludge in the bag. When the filter press is actuated, the filter bag is compressed therein for dewatering the sludge in the bag for ease in removing the sludge and reusing the bag or replacing the bag. The filter press includes a horizontal stand with an upright vertical press frame. A hydraulic cylinder with piston is mounted on the vertical press frame. Attached to the vertical press frame is an open-top housing adapted for receiving the filter bag therein. The sides and bottom of the housing are lined with screens for passing filtered water therethrough. The housing includes a first vertical side, a second vertical side, a stationary vertical press plate, a vertical movable press plate and a foldable bottom. The foldable bottom includes a pair of pivot arms attached to the piston of the hydraulic cylinder. The foldable bottom is also attached to a lower end of a pair of coil springs. An upper end of the coil springs is attached to one end of a pair of spring arms. An opposite end of the spring arms is attached to the vertical movable press plate and the vertical stationary press plate. When the hydraulic cylinder is actuated, the piston moves upwardly pivoting the pivot arms downwardly folding the bottom and moving the movable press plate inwardly in the filter housing. At this time the filter bag is compressed between the stationary press plate and the movable press plate with the sludge therein being compressed and dewatered.

Water/sludge filter press

A compact and easily cleanable device for separating solids from a stream of liquid entering the device includes a hollow base having a screen positioned spatially above the bottom of the base and tilted forwardly and downwardly to define a plane which is recessed from an opening in the base which is generally parallel to the screen. A cover is hingedly mounted adjacent the top of the device and includes a motor centrally positioned externally thereon having a drive shaft extending through the cover to the interior side thereof. A pair of wiper blades are rotatably driven on the shaft and are positioned between the interior of the cover and the screen so as to have an edge of the wiper blade rotatably movable on the screen for moving solids collected on the screen around the output shaft and upwardly toward a cutout adjacent the top of the shaft where the solids may exit the device.
