A capacitive voltage sensor assembly includes an electrode extending along a longitudinal axis, the electrode having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, and a tubular shield surrounding and spaced radially outward from a portion of the electrode. The tubular shield includes a plurality of through holes. The sensor assembly also includes a circular sensor element positioned radially inward of the tubular shield and including a first layer made of electrically conductive material and a second layer made of electrically insulating material. The circular sensor element includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced gaps.

A current or voltage sensor for use with a busbar has a support body having a proximal end juxtaposed with the busbar and a distal end spaced therefrom and a U-shaped conducting bar in the proximal end and having a pair of arms having free ends transversely engaging the busbar. A Rogowski coil in the proximal end is juxtaposed with the U-shaped conducting bar. A grounded screening element at the distal end is conductive and forms a chamber open toward the U-shape conducting bar. A source electrode has a proximal end engaging the U-shaped conducting bar outside the first chamber and a distal end in the chamber. An electrical field sensor in the first chamber is juxtaposed with the distal end of the source electrode.

Methods and apparatus for noninvasively estimating a blood pressure are provided. A target interval is determined from a diastolic signal such that the target interval includes an S2 component. The S2 component is extracted from the diastolic signal using the target interval and is analyzed in the target interval to obtain a number of oscillations in the S2 component. A predetermined relationship between the number of oscillations in the S2 component and blood pressure is used to generate a blood pressure estimate.

Methods and apparatus for noninvasively determining a sound pressure of a source that transmits a generally periodic acoustic signal including at least one signal component to a surface of a body are provided. The signal component at the surface of the body is received and an initial phase-inverted signal component is estimated responsive to the received signal component. The phase-inverted signal component, advanced by a predetermined time increment, is transmitted toward the source via the surface. The predetermined time increment corresponds to a distance of the signal component within the body. At least one feature of the transmitted signal component is adjusted until a further received signal approximates a minimum value. The adjusted signal component corresponds to the signal component at the distance. The apparatus determines the phase-inverted signal component that corresponds to the signal component being proximate to the source.

Methods and apparatus for noninvasively estimating a blood pressure are provided. A bandpass filter is applied to a second heart sound (S2) component to generate a filtered S2 component. The bandpass filter has a lower cutoff frequency greater than a maximum frequency of the S2 component. The maximum frequency of the S2 component is estimated using the filtered S2 component, a predetermined relationship is applied between the estimated maximum frequency and blood pressure to generate a blood pressure estimate and the blood pressure estimate is displayed.

Noninvasive method and apparatus for measuring blood pressure by determining a maximum frequency of spectral content of the second heart sound

Methods and apparatus for noninvasively estimating a blood pressure are provided. A pulmonic (P) component extracted from a second heart sound (S) signal is analyzed to obtain a number of oscillations in the P component. A predetermined relationship between the number of oscillations and PAP is used to generate a blood pressure estimate. A PCG sensor including a mechanical filter for receiving heart sounds from a chest wall is also provided. The pressure of the PCG sensor on the chest wall is adjustable.
