Apparatuses () for mapping devices (-) to representations (-) of the devices (-) in models comprise displays () for displaying representations (-), memories () for storing triggering information defining triggering procedures for triggering the devices (-), inputs () for receiving identifying information comprising identifiers from devices (-) that have been triggered, and processors () for linking the identifiers and the representations (-) at the hand of the triggering procedures. The commissioning of devices (-) is done faster and more user-friendly. The triggering procedures may define the devices (-) to be triggered in a sequence. Alternatively the triggering procedures may define unique codes to be allocated to the representations (-) and to be provided to the devices (-), with the identifying information further comprising the codes. Adaptive modulation and data embedding in light for advanced lighting control

A method for calibrating an ambience lighting system for providing an ambient light effect for a cinema display screen is proposed. The method is based on implementing the ambience lighting system in the form of one or more of coded light (CL) sources. The method then includes processing one or more images of a scene being illuminated by the ambience lighting system to determine, based on the CL embedded into the light output of the individual CL sources, color and/or an intensity of the light generated by the individual CL source. The set of control data for controlling the CL sources to provide the desired ambient light effect is then based not only on the color and/or intensity of image content to be displayed on the cinema display screen, but also on the determined color and/or intensity of the light output of the individual CL sources.

Camera-based calibration of an ambience lighting system

Remote controllers, positioning systems, and methods configured for the efficient assignment of addresses in a coded lighting positioning system are proposed. Particularly, a proposed remote controller comprises a receiver for receiving coded light from a light source in a coded lighting positioning system, where the coded light comprises an initial light source identifier of the light source. The remote controller also comprises a processing unit for assigning a modified light source identifier to the light source based on the received coded light, and a transmitter for transmitting the modified light source identifier to the light source. The modified light source identifier is a locally unique identifier used to provide positional information.

There is provided a light detection system which is capable of determining in light embedded codes by detecting light in a scene which is illuminated by an illumination system () comprising one or more light sources () each providing a light contribution (I, I, I) comprising an embedded code (ID#1, ID#2, ID#3) emitted as a temporal sequence of modulations in a characteristics of the light emitted. The light detection system comprises light detection means (), which are arranged for acquiring at least one image of the scene, where the image is acquired a plurality of temporal shifted line instances. Each line of the acquired image comprises an instance of the temporal sequence of modulations of the first embedded code. The light detection system further comprises means () for determining embedded codes from the spatial pattern of modulations.

The present invention relates to a mobile device for detecting light. The mobile device () includes a photo detector () which is arranged at the end of a socket barrel () of an audio jack socket in the mobile device. The socket barrel serves to collimate the light onto the photo detector.

An emergency manager for a lighting device (), which lighting device is configured to transmit information by coding its output light. The invention relates to a method for automatic grouping of light sources within an illumination system. The method is performed starting from a first light source of the illumination system emitting a first light signal and a first sound signal. The method includes steps of using an intensity of the first light signal as received by a second light source and an intensity of the first sound signal as received by the second light source to determine a value of a grouping function (), and assigning the first light source and the second light source to the same group of light sources when the determined value of the grouping function satisfies one or more pre-determined conditions (). In this manner, a determination could be made whether or not the first and second light sources should be assigned to the same group in a manner that yields improved results over the prior art solutions.

Automatic grouping via light and sound

Proposed is a light module () comprising at least two primary light sources () capable of emitting a primary color light. This allows the light module to emit light having intensity (Y) and color coordinates (x,y) through additive color mixing of the constituent primary colors. The light module further comprises an modulator () capable of modulating the primary light sources enabling embedment of data in the light emitted. The modulator () is arranged to modulate the color coordinates of the light emitted for embedding the data. This is especially advantageous as the sensitivity of the human eye to changes in color is lower than to changes in intensity. The invention thus advantageously allows embedding the data into the light emitted from the light modules () of an illumination system () without reducing the performance of its primary function as an aid to human vision.

There is provided a method for detecting modulated light comprising: receiving a set of images acquired by means of a rolling shutter camera having image acquisition settings comprising a frame rate, f, and a line rate, f; identifying in consecutive frames of said images&#x2014;a pattern governed by the ratio between a modulation frequency, fc, of a modulated light source and the line rate, f, and&#x2014;between consecutive frames a spatial shift of said pattern governed by the ratio between said modulation frequency fc, and said frame rate, f; and providing based on said pattern and spatial shift thereof, an estimate of the modulated light amplitude from said light source.

A direction controllable lighting unitfor use in a lighting system is described. The light emission of the lighting unitmay be directed into different directions, e.g. by use of a mechanically movable element. At least two ultrasound transmitters, or ultrasound receiversare disposed at the lighting unitsuch that they differ in position, or in direction or shape of the spatial intensity distribution or spatial distribution of reception sensitivity. A mobile control elementhas at least one corresponding ultrasound transmitter or receiver. A difference bebveen a signal from a transmitter received at multiple receivers, or a signal of multiple transmitters received at a single receiver is used to determine a relative direction of the direction controllable lighting unitand the control element, and to control the direction of the lighting unitin dependence thereof.

According to one aspect of the disclosure, a lighting system comprises a remote control unit () and at least one lighting device () comprising a light driver () and a light emitter (). The remote control unit () comprises an image capturing unit () and is arranged to control the lighting device (). To do so, the remote control unit () receives information relating to current/present settings of the image capturing unit (), then determines one or more properties of signals for visible light communications based on these settings. The one or more properties are then communicated to the at least one lighting device (). Upon reception thereof the light driver () generates a light emitting control signal based on the received properties and visible light communications based on the light emitting control signal is emitted by the light emitter (). According to another aspect, a lighting device () adapts emitted modulated light and adapts the modulation so as not to correspond to blind-spots of an image capture unit ().
