A vehicle controller for operating an autonomous vehicle includes an inertial measurement unit (IMU) configured measure specific forces acting upon the autonomous vehicle, and a flight controller configured to execute a high-speed control loop to periodically update commands to a plurality of control actuators for controlling a position or an attitude of the autonomous vehicle based on data from the IMU regarding the specific forces acting upon the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle controller also includes a mission computer including a processor programmed to control a mission of the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle controller also includes a cellular data radio configured to wirelessly communicate via a cellular network. The vehicle controller also includes a housing containing the IMU, the flight controller, the mission computer, and the cellular data radio. A method of operating an autonomous vehicle is also provided.

System and method for software-defined drones

A stationary radar device, which apart from a plurality of stationary receiving antennae, includes a plurality of stationary transmitting antennae for emitting primary radio waves. A frequency-modulated emitting signal is generated in two sequences. During the first sequences a plurality of successive first chirps are emitted by one of the transmitting antennae. A Doppler shift or a speed is computed from the temporal development of the respective first receiving signals. The second sequences are intermitted with the first sequences and each include one or more second chirps, wherein the second chirps are produced from different transmitting antennae. The second receiving signals which are effected by the second chirps are evaluated, in order by way of correlation of receiving signals that originate from second chips, which come from different transmitting antennae, to obtain a phase picture that is resolved in the azimuth.

Radar device

A radar system for sensing object movements in a predefined target region is described. The radar system includes: at least one radar unit which includes at least one transmitting unit designed to emit electromagnetic radiation and at least one receiving unit designed to receive reflected electromagnetic radiation; at least one evaluating unit designed to sense object movements in the predefined target region and, for a sensed object movement, to decide whether the object movement is a sought object movement; at least one covering device behind which the transmitting and receiving units are arranged for protection; and at least one clearing device designed to remove deposits that adhere to or lie on an outer surface of the at least one covering device. The evaluating unit is designed to determine whether deposits are present on the outer surface or not and to decide whether the clearing device becomes activated or not.

The invention relates to polyamide sheet silicate compositions, containing an untreated clay mineral and a water-soluble polyamide, the concentration of the clay material being greater than 30% by weight. Furthermore the invention relates to nanocomposites which contain clay minerals distributed homogeneously in a water-insoluble thermoplastic matrix. These nanocomposites are produced by mixing the polyamide sheet silicate composition and a water-insoluble thermoplastic in the melt.

A flow detector has a housing () with tongues (), which allow to anchor it to a support to withstand pulling forces. The housing further comprises pegs () provided to mate with openings or recesses in the same support, which allow to secure it against lateral forces. The tongues () and pegs () are mounted to a hull () of a housing () of the detector, which carries on its opposite side an inlet () and an outlet () for the fluid to be measured. Connectors () are provided on the same side as the tongues () and the pegs () for connecting the detector to an external system. This design is robust and allows to mount the detector to the support in quick and secure manner.
