The present invention provides a system, method and computer program product for managing a research seed location. In various embodiments, the method of the present invention comprises storing at least one field characteristic layer in a memory, storing at least one the research plot layer in a memory, and merging the research plot layer and the field characteristic layer via a processor. In some embodiments, the research plot plan may be linked to a research plot database. In some embodiments, plant observation data and/or plant harvest data may be collected and may be merged with the research plot plan. In some embodiments, a seed planting device may be controlled to plant seeds according to the research plot plan.

The system has a tractor, a windrower for windrowing material, a baler for baling material that passes through the windrower, a conveying assembly attached to an outlet opening of the windrower, and a connecting assembly for connecting the tractor, the windrower, and the baler. The conveying assembly moves material from the outlet opening of the windrower toward an inlet of the baler.

An adjustable rake assembly for raking and baling material in a single pass is provided. In particular, a rake assembly is provided wherein at least one rake is configured to be moved with respect to the frame between a first position and a second position via a telescoping rake connection and a rotating rake connection. An adjustable rake assembly for raking and baling material in a single pass is provided. In particular, a rake assembly is provided that includes a frame and two movable wings configured to be moved to at least one transport position, in which the wings are disposed proximate a main axial member of the frame in a folded arrangement. A rake assembly is also provided wherein at least one rake is configured to be moved with respect to the frame between a first position and a second position via a telescoping rake connection and a rotating rake connection. The invention is directed to an apparatus, method and system for a seed planter. The seed planter has a planting, dispensing and metering assembly operatively attached to a mobile supporting structure. The metering assembly has separated seed pre-staging and/or staging positions for staging pre-specified counts of seed separated from other counts in the batch and maintaining separation of the pre-specified counts of seed from other counts in the batch for planting. Alternatively, the metering assembly has separated seed staging positions for staging a batch of seed in singulated form for planting.

A device and method for applying a wind force to a plurality of plants in an agricultural environment is provided to screen for selected wind-resistance traits in the plurality of plants. In one embodiment of the present invention, a device is provided including a generating device for creating a moving fluid stream to provide the wind force, a directing device, such as a duct and/or movable vane, for precisely and selectively directing the wind force towards a portion of at least one plant, and a controller for adjusting one or more parameters of the fluid stream. The device and/or method embodiments of the present invention may thus be used to selectively apply the wind force to one or more plants (or portions thereof) such that the plants may be evaluated with respect to one or more wind-resistant physical characteristics.
