Environmental stabilizing agents are stored in an adhesive adjoining, directly or indirectly, a film or membrane that requires protection from the environment. Such stabilizing agents include ultra-violet protectors and anti-oxidants. Migration of such environmental stabilizing agents from an adhesive to a film or membrane permits the use of new and different materials for such films and membranes because their method of manufacture no longer needs to accommodate the heat and processing sensitivities of the stabilizing agents.

Method of stabilizing films or membranes using adhesive as a reservoir

An inkjet receptor medium wherein the medium is microporous and has on one major surface an imaging layer comprising a coating of a mixture of amorphous precipitated and fumed silicas and binder. Dot diameter of pigmented inkjet inks can be controlled using the receptor medium, which is advantageous for inks delivered in small picoliter volumes. Methods of making and using the medium are also disclosed.

A graphics overlay composite comprising a premask layer and a protective layer, wherein the premask layer provides handleability and the protective layer provides environmental protection of an imaged composite once the premask layer is removed. Optionally, the protective layer is deformable under lamination conditions such that the graphics overlay composite can be laminated to an imaged receptor to provide a graphics transfer article or a graphics applique, either of which can be laminated to an atypical receptor to form an image composite.
