A three-dimensional printed metal component for a lubricated system is provided. The metal component includes a three-dimensional printed metal body formed of a plurality of metal layers of a first metal and having a contact surface configured to movingly contact another component of the lubricated system. The metal component further includes at least one first three-dimensional printed wear-identifying layer of a material different from the first metal embedded in the metal body at a predetermined depth, a predetermined distance from an outer surface portion of the contact surface. The predetermined distance defines a predetermined wear state of the contact surface associated with replacement of the metal component.

A head mountable display system includes a visual image system, a head mountable display device including a display screen, and a headset pose sensor system. A controller is configured to generate a camera image based upon the image data, generate an augmented reality overlay based upon the position and the orientation of the operator's head relative to the work site, determine an image to be rendered on the head mountable display based upon the camera image and the augmented reality overlay, and render the image on the display screen.

A controller implemented method of remotely operating a machine includes determining, for each of a plurality of operating conditions of the machine, a predetermined configuration of a machine instrument array and removably mounting a portable computing device on a remote control console. The method further includes defining a configuration of a console instrument array of the remote control console in which, for each of the plurality of operating conditions, the configuration of the console instrument array is generally identically to the predetermined configuration of the machine instrument array. A cooling system for a machine having an engine and an operator cabin includes a primary air conditioning unit, an auxiliary air conditioning unit, an electrical powering unit configured to electrically power the auxiliary air conditioning unit, a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of a temperature within the operator cabin, and a controller in communication with the primary air conditioning unit, the auxiliary air conditioning unit, and the sensor. The controller selectively activates the primary air conditioning unit and the auxiliary air conditioning unit. When the primary air conditioning unit is activated, a timer is started to determine the elapsed time during which the temperature within the operator's cabin exceeds the acceptable range of desired temperature, and the auxiliary unit is activated when the elapsed time exceeds a threshold time.
