A braking assembly for an air disc brake comprises an actuator assembly having a service portion, at least one mounting stud attached to the service portion, and an air disc brake caliper having a bore for receiving the at least one mounting stud. The mounting stud is pivotable with respect to the service portion for installation on the air disc brake caliper.

An apparatus for indicating air disc brake pad wear includes a housing having a proximate end and a distal end; wherein a first opening is located at the proximate end. The housing receives a first rigid member having a proximate end and a distal end and partially contained in the housing, the first rigid member distal end extending from the distal end of the housing and configured to attach to an associated inboard disk brake pad assembly. The first rigid member moves linearly in response to the movement of the associated disc brake pad such that the proximate end of the first rigid member as seen through the first opening recedes as the associated disc brake pad wears. The housing may also receive a second rigid member configured to attach to a carrier of the air disc brake assembly for determining wear on an outboard disc brake pad.

A disc brake caliper includes actuator and reaction portions disposed on opposite sides of a rotor and a bridge portion extending between the actuator and reaction portions and disposed radially outward of the rotor. The actuator portion houses a piston and a lever and defines a mounting flange for a brake actuator. Movement of the lever by the brake actuator causes the piston and the reaction portion to urge brake pads against opposite sides of the rotor. The mounting flange defines a pushrod bore and a fastener bore that receive a pushrod of the actuator and a shank of a fastener extending from the actuator, respectively. The fastener bore has a diameter that varies along at least a portion of a length of the bore beginning from a first end of the bore proximate the actuator and tapering moving towards a second end of the bore distant from the actuator.

Caliper for a disc brake configured to facilitate attachment of a brake actuator

A system and method are provided for retaining brake pads in disc brakes, such as air-operated disc brakes utilized on commercial vehicles, and for installing and removing brake pads, without the need to employ brake pad retaining devices which radially over-top the brake pads. A preferred embodiment includes a retaining element, preferably a spring steel clip, having protrusions which face in opposite directions to engage corresponding slots in a brake pad lateral edge and in a brake pad carrier brake pad-facing surface. When installed in a radially-inward direction, the brake pad carrier side protrusion engages the brake pad carrier slot, and cooperates with the brake pad lateral side protrusion to resist brake pad movement in the radially-outward direction. The brake pad carrier side protrusion may be manually pressed toward the brake pad to disengage the protrusion from the carrier slot to permit withdrawal of the brake paid from the carrier.

Disc brake pad mounting and retention system and method

A shower head has a housing with a water inlet and a control valve which connects to the housing inlet and has a plurality of water outlets. The control valve regulates the flow of water to a plurality of circumferentially arranged spray openings and to a nozzle which is located within the periphery of the spray openings. The nozzle has the ability to turn or spin, thus providing a soft spray which may be independent of or concurrent with the discharge of water from the spray openings. The nozzle may also wobble, which movement may be described as nutational, or the slow movement of the axis of the nozzle about another axis. Wobbling movement provides a somewhat more concentrated spray than that provided when the nozzle only spins. The shower head further has an auxiliary port which may be utilized with other spray devices such as fixed sprays or hand-held shower heads.

A water valve mounting assembly for use in attaching a water valve such as a shower valve to a wall of a bathroom or other type of room having washing facilities includes a valve body positioned on the exterior side of the wall in alignment with an opening in the wall. There is a mounting plate positioned on an exterior side of the wall and aligned with the valve body and wall opening, with the mounting plate being attached to the valve body and having a generally central recessed area extending toward and into the wall opening. The mounting plate has a plurality of spaced barbs adjacent its periphery, which barbs extend toward and are embedded in the exterior surface of the wall about the wall opening, with the embedded barbs preventing turning movement of the mounting plate relative to the wall and the valve body.

A spray device for use as an alternate water discharge to a faucet has a body with a handle and a spray head. The spray head has a first central water discharge in the form of a localized stream and a second peripheral spray type water discharge. There is a trigger which is movable on the body between an inoperable position, a first operable position, and a second operable position. In the first operable position water passes through the spray head central discharge and in the second operable position water passes through the peripheral spray. There is a chamber within the body which communicates with the first and second water discharges and there is a water passage in the handle communicating with the chamber. A piston is movable within the chamber and there is a water passage within the piston which may connect to the handle water passage. A stem is positioned within the chamber and is connected to and movable with the piston. The stem has a seal for closing the piston water passage. A coaxial spring biases the stem seal toward a piston water passage closing position. A flow diverter is located adjacent both water discharge passages, with the flow diverter being movable by the piston between positions in which water flows from the piston water passage to either of the first or second water discharges.
