A tissue microfracture apparatus including a housing having a proximal end and a distal end that includes an aperture. The apparatus also includes an elongated member having proximal and distal ends with at least one tissue microfracture spike protruding from the distal end. The member operates cooperatively with the housing to expose a portion of the spike through the aperture. The apparatus also includes a disposing facility between the elongated member and the housing to dispose the spike in a home position within the housing. The disposing facility may be a spring element positioned at either the proximal or distal end of the housing. The elongated member may include a force receiving surface on the proximal end for receiving a force that facilitates exposing the portion of the spike. An exposure limiting facility limits the exposed portion of the spike.

Tissue microfracture apparatus and methods of use

Example embodiments of the brace assembly utilize an elastic cross strap attached to mounting facilities about a joint to provide progressive resistance to the extension, flexion or other movement of body parts about the joint. In some embodiments for a knee joint, the brace assembly provides a progressive resisting force to resist hyperextension of the knee. Some embodiments of the assembly may be able to accommodate different joints, different size wearer's of the assembly and different tension settings such as for athletes during competition. Some embodiments of the brace assembly may be used bilaterally and can be made without metal bracing to comply with the requirements of some sports. Some embodiments of the mounting facilities may have through holes.

Elastic brace assembly and methods of use

Example embodiments of the brace assembly utilize an elastic cross strap attached to mounting facilities about a joint to provide progressive resistance to the extension, flexion or other movement of body parts about the joint. In some embodiments for a knee joint, the brace assembly provides a progressive resisting force to resist hyperextension of the knee. Some embodiments of the brace assembly further comprise adjusting facilities to accommodate different joints, different size wearers of the assembly and different tension settings such as for athletes during competition. Some embodiments of the brace assembly may be used bilaterally and can be made without metal bracing to comply with the requirements of some sports.

Adjustable brace assembly and methods of use

A suture anchor assembly and methods of use will now are disclosed for the repair of human or animal tissue defects. The suture anchor assembly is capable of being inserted into a tissue such as bone while also being able to create an expanded profile when subjected to a retrograde force. This expanded profile anchors the suture anchor assembly into the tissue by a changing of position or shape of elements of the suture anchor assembly relative to other assembly elements and the tissue. Embodiments of the suture anchor assembly and methods are capable of precisely positioning assembly elements in the tissue to effectively repair the defects. Some embodiments of the suture anchor assembly are configured to allow for a tissue suture to be anchored without having to knot the tissue suture.

An orthotic brace and brace hinge are disclosed where the brace hinge comprises a multiple hinge elements and at least one hinge element having a magnetic field that provides a magnetic force urging one hinge elements in a pre-determined direction. Embodiments generally utilize magnetic forces to stabilize, influence and/or maintain adjacent joint portions in pre-determined desired relationships and for constraining motion and/or rotation of the joint portions. Through the use of the repelling and attracting forces of magnets, mechanical forces in the brace and brace hinge can be replaced or supplemented to reduce the force put on joint bones, to influence the bones so that the joint is biased into certain positions or to apply different forces through different points of joint flexion. Embodiments of braces with magnetic fields on other brace elements are also disclosed.

Suture anchoring assemblies and methods of use

Methods and systems for transosseous access and repair of joint surface are disclosed wherein one embodiment of the method comprises inserting a reaming rod through a bone tunnel positioned perpendicular to a first joint surface, connecting a reaming blade to the reaming rod, reaming the first joint surface with the reaming blade and removing the reaming blade and the reaming rod. In some embodiments, the reaming blade is configured to be inserted into the joint through an arthroscopic access portal. In some embodiments, an implant system comprises an implant anchor and an implant surface cap and the implant anchor is adapted to couple with a fixation element to anchor the implant anchor in a bone.

Transosseous methods and systems for joint repair

Embodiments of the training brace assembly utilize an elastic training portion about a body portion to provide a resistance force to the limbs about the body portions. The elastic training portion may be positioned from attachment points on upper and lower mounting portions to provide the resistance force that influences the movement of the mounting portions and the body portion. In embodiments for a hip joint as the body portion, the training brace assembly provides a progressive resistance force that may assist in neuromuscular training of the hip joint.

The cross-strap assembly is positioned from a cross origin behind the joint to attachment points on upper and lower mounting facilities on the upper and lower limbs and provides an opposing tensile force that limits the extension of mounting facilities and the limbs. In embodiments for a knee joint, the brace assembly provides a resisting force to resist hyperextension of the knee. Embodiments of the assembly are able to accommodate different joints, different size wearer's of the assembly and different tension settings such as for athletes during competition. Embodiments of the brace can be used bilaterally and can be made without metal bracing to comply with the requirements of some sports.
