An air conditioning system includes a first compressor and a second compressor arranged in parallel with the first compressor. The first compressor is a first type of compressor and the second compressor is a second type of compressor different from the first type of compressor. A valve is arranged upstream from both the first compressor and the second compressor relative to a flow of a fluid. The valve is operable to selectively supply the fluid to the first compressor, the second compressor, or both the first compressor and the second compressor.

Oil management for dual compressor modulation

A system and method for dual compressor modulation by controlling a flow of refrigerant in a reversing valve. A method includes receiving, by a control board, a command for operating a reversing valve in different modes. The reversing valve includes a first tube, a second tube, a third tube, a fourth tube and a fifth tube. The method includes determining a position for operating the reversing valve in a first position or a second position in a first mode and in a third position or a fourth position in a second mode. The method includes controlling a flow of refrigerant based on the command and the position by connecting the fourth tube with a first compressor in the first/third position and connecting the fifth tube with a second compressor in the second/fourth position.

Aspects of the invention are directed to condensate traps having a back portion and a front portion. The back portion includes a first passage enclosed between the first wall, a second wall, and a back wall. A first opening in the back portion connects the first wall and the second wall with a first float placed over the first opening and does not travel below the first opening and is prevented from leaving the first passage by a first constriction. The front portion of the condensate trap includes a second passage enclosed between the third wall and the fourth wall. A second opening connects the third wall and the fourth wall in the front portion and a second float is placed below the second opening such that it does not travel through the second opening and is prevented from falling below a predetermined level by a second constriction.

A limit switch assembly including a shape memory member, a furnace system for incorporating the same, and a method for controlling a furnace are provided. The limit switch assembly includes a switch communicatively connected to a control board of a furnace. The switch is configured to send a signal to the control board when actuated. The shape memory member is configured to actuate the switch. The control board, in certain instances, shuts off the furnace and arrests the supply of combustible gas when receiving the signal from the switch. The shape memory member, in certain instances, actuates the switch as a result of being heated.
