A DC electrical circuit breaker includes first and second movable electrical contacts. The circuit breaker includes a magnetic circuit including a magnet and generating a magnetic field able to guide an electrical arc in the direction of a quenching chamber, and having for this purpose curved field lines extending perpendicularly to opposite lateral walls of an electrical arc formation chamber, these field lines converging, in a central region of the arc formation chamber containing the contact zones, toward the quenching chamber while extending parallel to the longitudinal plane.

The present disclosure relates to an arc extinguishing chamber of an electrical circuit breaker, including an arc-forming chamber enclosing a fixed contact and a moving contact, which, at the time of their separation, form an arc between them, said forming chamber communicating with the input of an arc-quenching chamber comprising a stack of separators extending parallel to one another, and including a magnetic release situated on the side of the fixed and moving contacts and a switching horn situated on the opposite side, where the form of the separators varies progressively from one separator to the next, or by groups of identical separators from one group to another, or a mixture of both, in such a way that this form changes from the V having the largest opening surface area to the V having the smallest opening surface area, in the direction from the magnetic release to the switching horn.

Arc extinguishing chamber for electrical circuit breaker and circuit breaker comprising such a chamber

An arc extinguishing chamber includes an arc formation chamber containing a stationary contact and a movable contact which form an arc between them when separated. The arc formation chamber communicates with an inlet of a second chamber. A separating wall is placed in a volume downstream from said second chamber. The wall extends in the direction of the gas flow to partition the volume in the direction of the flow of the gases and exhaust outlets enabling the quenching gases to be removed outside of the apparatus. The separating wall(s) extend(s) in such a way as to partition in the direction of the flow to the outlets and to thereby form at least a first removal duct and a second removal duct, said ducts each being associated with an exhaust outlet and enabling a substantially complete separation to be achieved between a first flow and a second flow.

Extinguishing chamber for an electric protection apparatus and electric protection apparatus comprising one such chamber

The present invention relates to an arc extinguishing chamber of an electric protection apparatus comprising an arc formation chamber containing a stationary contact and a movable contact which, when they separate, form an arc between them, said arc formation chamber communicating with the inlet of a second chamber, called arc extinguishing chamber. This chamber comprises a wall called balancing wall, substantially solid at least on its central part, said wall being located downstream from the arc extinguishing chamber and being formed and arranged with respect to the arc extinguishing chamber in such a way as to slow down the exhaust flow of the breaking gases on the side of the arc extinguishing chamber where the gases go first, and enhancing flow of the exhaust gases on the opposite side, the exhaust gases being stopped by the central part of the wall and escaping via the edges of the wall.
