Disclosed is a multilayer film comprising a first surface layer comprising a cross-linked, partially neutralized copolymer of ethylene and one or more &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated Cto Ccarboxylic acid, and a second surface layer comprising a polyamide; a use of such multilayer film for, for example, decorating a substrate such as for example a ski, snowboard or skate board; as well as a ski comprising such coextruded multilayer film. Also disclosed is a process for decorating a substrate comprising coextruding a multilayer film comprising the first surface layer and the second surface layer comprising a polyamide; irradiating the coextruded multilayer film to cross-link the film; printing a decorative element on the second surface layer comprising a polyamide; cutting the multilayer film; contacting the second surface layer of the multilayer film with a surface to be decorated on a substrate; laminating, e.g., by heat, the multilayer film to the surface to be decorated.

Disclosed is a cable comprising a core and a PCM layer surrounding the core wherein the PCM layer consists of a PCM composition wherein the PCM composition comprises a PCM and an ethylene copolymer; and the core consists of a yarn, strand, or wire each made of a natural or synthetic polymeric material or a metal. The invention is useful for thermal management in a variety of applications in such as, for example, automotive, building, packaging, garments, and footwear.

Cables made of phase change material

Disclosed is a vapor permeable composition comprising a copolymer comprising copolymerized units of ethylene and copolymerized units of a comonomer providing an amine-reactive site; a short chain polymer having one primary amine active amine site, and comprising propylene oxide, ethylene oxide, or mixture thereof. The composition is useful as a vapor barrier for moisture control of buildings. Also disclosed are articles comprising the vapor permeable composition and methods of their use.

Variable vapor barrier for humidity control

A curable composition and an article produced therefrom are disclosed in which the composition can comprise an optional first component, a second component, and a third component; the optional first component includes a copolymer derived from ethylene and a polar monomer; the second component includes a copolymer derived from ethylene, a vinyl acetate or alkyl(meth)acrylate, and carbon monoxide; and the third component includes a copolymer derived from ethylene and an alkyl(meth)acrylate or a polymer of alkyl(meth)acrylate.

Curable elastomeric compositions

The present invention relates to a Phase Change Material (PCM) composition comprising a) from 20 to 80 wt % of a PCM; and b) from 20 to 80 wt % of one or more polymers chosen from the group consisting of b1) Very Low Density Polyethylene (VLDPE) having a density equal or lower than 0.910 g/cmmeasured according to ASTM 792; b2) Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) having a density equal or lower than 0.900 g/cmmeasured according to ASTM 792; b3) Styrene Ethylene Butadiene Styrene (SEBS) copolymers; and b4) Styrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) copolymers. The PCM composition of the present invention can be used in applications where thermal management is needed, like for example in building, automotive, packaging, garments and footwear.

Phase change material (PCM) compositions for thermal management

A phase change material (PCM) composition comprises a blend of at least one fatty acid ester and at least one ethylene copolymer, wherein the ethylene copolymer comprises at least 28% of an at least one polar comonomer by weight, based on the weight of the ethylene copolymer. A film or sheet comprises or is produced from the PCM composition and the film or sheet can be a single layer or multilayer structure.

Phase change material compositions

A flame retardant panel structure comprises at least one external metal layer, one or more tie layers comprising one or more functionalized polymers, and a core layer made of a fabric made of glass fibers. The flame retardant panel structure shows comparable flame retardancy properties while being manufactured at reasonable costs with conventional processes such as for example extrusion or calendering. The flame retardant panel structures can be used in applications where flame retardancy and/or fire protection is needed, such as for example in building and construction applications, automotive or railways applications, medical equipments and luggage.

Disclosed are films, tapes, and melt-spun fibers prepared from a composition comprising (a) at least one polyester polymer and (b) from about 1 to 30 weight % of at least one ethylene copolymer such as ethylene/vinyl acetate dipolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate terpolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate dipolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate terpolymers, functionalized ethylene copolymers, ethylene/acid copolymers, and salts thereof. The films, tapes and fibers exhibit improved tensile properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break compared to non-modified polyester compositions. Also disclosed are textiles and articles prepared from the fibers described.

Ethylene copolymer modified oriented polyester films, tapes, fibers and nonwoven textiles

Disclosed are films, tapes, and melt-spun fibers comprising or prepared from a composition comprising (a) at least one polyamide polymer; and (b) from about 0.1 to 20 weight % of at least one ethylene copolymer such as ethylene/vinyl acetate dipolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate terpolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate dipolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate terpolymers, functionalized ethylene copolymers, ethylene/acid copolymers, and salts thereof. The films, tapes and fibers exhibit improved tensile properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break compared to nonmodified polyamide compositions. Also disclosed are nonwoven textiles comprising or prepared from the oriented melt-spun fibers.

Water resistant fabric and method for making

Halogen-free polyolefin blends are provided which are flame retardant and are particularly useful in replacing polyvinyl chloride for production of different products such as coatings for wire and cable and sheets for floor tiles. The blends comprise (1) ethylene vinyl acetate carbon monoxide terpolymer; (2) an ethylene vinyl acetate or polyolefin; (3) an ethylene vinyl acetate or polyolefin grafted with a carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof; and (4) an inorganic filler.

Flexible thermoplastic polyolefin compositions

Nonhalogen-Containing Thermoplastic Polyolefin blends are provided which are either heat resistant and are particularly useful in wire and cable coatings, extruded profiles, sheet form or injection molded part or have an elastomeric behavior and are particularly useful in injection molded part. These blends comprise preferably (1) ethylene n-butyl acrylate glycidyl methacrylate (EnBAGMA) terpolymer, (2) an ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM) grafted with maleic anhydride, (3) a polypropylene homopolymer for heat resistance or a very low density polyethylene for elastomeric behavior or a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) or a low density polyethylene or a high density polyethylene or an ethylene-polypropylene copolymer.
