A caliper-arm-position sensor comprising a differential variable reluctance transducer (DVRT) and circuits to drive the DVRT with a substantially sinusoidal signal and to sample a signal at the DVRT once per drive-signal cycle at a predetermined position in the drive-signal cycle is disclosed.

Core-position sensor

An integrated circuit radio transceiver and method therefor includes circuitry and logic for transmitting outgoing or ingoing communication signals as well as one of a digital data signal or a digital clock on the same antenna signal paths between a radio and a switch fabric. The switch fabric is operable to selectively couple any of a plurality of antennas to antenna signal paths based upon the digital data and the digital clock extracted from at least one of the antenna signal paths conducting RF signals. The switch fabric is further operable to extract all required power from at least one antenna signal path that may be used to conduct RF.

RF selection diversity module

A tool is provided for assistance in removing and installing tires on wheel rims. The tool can be provided with a handle having a tool head disposed at each end. Each tool head is designed to fit between a tire bead and an associated wheel rim so that when the handle is levered, a force is applied to the bead and rim that moves the bead over the rim. Each tool head has a substantially flat portion which can be easily fit between opposing tire and wheel rim surfaces. One tool head has a slightly hooked distal tip to enable axial engagement with a flange of the wheel rim, and thus can be used either for installing a tire on a rim or for removing a tire from the rim. Another tool head has a protrusion disposed near the tool midpoint to engage a flange of the wheel rim. The protrusion can be a roller member having a pin axis perpendicular to an axis of the tool handle. This roller can be fabricated from a soft polymer or rubber material so that the tool will not damage soft-metal wheel rims such as aluminum. The handle can have a pronounced curvature that allows a portion of the handle body to be received within the cavity formed by the wheel rim. This curvature allows for a greater range of motion of the handle, thus providing the user improved leverage as compared to prior tools. The tool heads may be permanently attached to the handle, or they may be removable to allow the user to customize the tool to the desired application.

Tire installation and removal tool

A tool is provided for assistance in removing tires from wheel rims. The tool has a rim engaging member with a lateral opening for engaging the flange of a wheel rim, and a tire engaging member movably coupled to the rim engaging member. The rim engaging member has a slot, within which a pin of the tire engaging member can slide to thereby allow the tire engaging member to rotate and translate relative to the rim engaging member. A roller is mounted on one end of the tire engaging member to exert a downward pressure on the tire sidewall, and a handle protrudes on an opposite end. A resilient roller is mounted on a lip portion of the rim engaging member to facilitate engagement between the member and the rim, and to prevent damage to the rim. The rim engaging member also may have a resilient roller for engaging a portion of the tire engaging member to enable smooth movement of the two pieces with respect to each other. The tool also has an adjustable tire bead hook member for supporting an upper tire bead while the tool is being used to remove the lower tire bead. This adjustable hook member can be adjusted to fit a variety of tire widths, including double-width tires.

Tire removal tool

A tool is provided for assistance in removing and installing tires on wheel rims. The tool has a body with a lateral opening for engaging the flange of a wheel rim, preferably opening into a cavity that is wider than the opening such that the tools pivots between stable positions on a fulcrum at which lips of the lateral opening bear against the flange. A roller is mounted on one end of the tool body to exert a downward pressure on the tire sidewall, and a handle protrudes on an end opposite the cavity and fulcrum from the roller. The roller displaces the tire bead from its seat against the rim when removing or installing the bead of a tire that is already at least partly on the rim, or supports the second bead of a tire whose first bead is axially outside of the rim relative to the wheel rotation axis. Displacing the bead from its seat opens a radial clearance between the bead and the rim, so that the tire can be displaced eccentrically to relieve tension on the bead due to prying on a diametrically opposite side of the tire. The roller has a rotation axis tangential to the rim, and thus is positioned to facilitate eccentric displacement of the tire on the rim, namely by radial displacement in the area of the roller. The tool can have one cavity or a number of cavities among which the user chooses as appropriate to the dimensions of the tire and the amount of leverage to be applied to the roller via the handle.

Tire removal and installation tool

A temperature sensing apparatus is disclosed which generates a signal having a frequency which is related to temperature. The apparatus includes means for receiving a temperature input, an output for carrying an output signal having a frequency related to the temperature output, and a converting means for converting the temperature input to the output signal.

Method and apparatus for temperature sensing

A tool for removing a tire from a wheel rim includes an elongated body member with a handle at one end and a tool head at the other end. The tool head includes a tire engaging member having at least one tire bead support and terminating in at least two laterally spaced apart tire contact parts. The tool head further includes a rigid, L-shaped wheel rim engaging member terminating in a wheel rim contact part. The wheel rim contact part is sufficiently spaced from the tire engaging member to accept a wheel rim flange therebetween. In a preferred embodiment, each of the at least two tire contact parts and the wheel rim contact part has a rotatable roller.

A tool for installing a tire on a wheel rim includes an elongated body member with a handle at one end and a tool head at the other end. The tool head has a tire engaging member terminating in an insertion end and a contact end. The tire engaging member has a back face attached to a connector portion of the elongated body member, and a front face on an opposite side of the tire engaging member. A tire contact part extends above the front face at the contact end. A wheel rim contact member extends from the back face and terminates in a wheel rim contact part. A portion of the tire engaging member between the insertion end and the wheel rim contact member is insertable between a tire bead and a rim flange.

Tire installation tool

A tool for removing a tire from a wheel rim includes an elongated body member with a handle at one end and a tool head at the other end. The tool head includes a tire engaging member terminating in at least two laterally spaced apart tire contact parts, and a rigid, L-shaped wheel rim engaging member terminating in a wheel rim contact part. The wheel rim contact part is sufficiently spaced from the tire engaging member to accept a wheel rim flange therebetween. In a preferred embodiment, each of the at least two tire contact parts and the wheel rim contact part has a rotatable roller.
