A method of controlling a variable vane assembly includes the steps of sensing a first angular deflection of a first array of variable vanes about a first vane axis, and a second angular deflection of a second array of variable vanes about a second vane axis, the first array of variable vanes axially spaced from the second array of variable vanes, and adjusting the angular deflection of one of the first and second arrays of variable vanes, based on the sensed angular deflections from the other of the first and second arrays of variable vanes. A compressor including the variable vane assembly and a method of operating the variable vane assembly for a compressor are also disclosed.

Variable vane control system

A bushing includes a cylindrical bushing body with a lubricant aperture and a dry lubrication source. The bushing defines a main bushing bore therethrough along a longitudinal axis. The lubricant aperture is defined in the bushing body along an angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The dry lubrication source is disposed in the lubricant aperture. A variable vane system includes a cylindrical case, a plurality of vanes projecting radially inward from the case, and a plurality of bushings. Each vane includes a respective vane stem operatively connecting an end of each vane to the case. Each bushing is disposed on one of the respective vane stems between the vane stem and the case. The respective vane stem is disposed within the main bushing bore and each bushing is slidingly engaged with the case.

Self-lubricating bushings

A synchronization ring for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a synchronization ring for a variable vane assembly. A plurality of rollers are attached to the synchronization ring for engaging a case on the gas turbine engine.

An assembly includes a synchronizing ring, a vane arm, and a multi-axis joint. The multi-axis joint connects the synchronizing ring to the vane arm and provides the vane arm with movement about a first pivot axis and a second pivot axis.

A nacelle assembly for a bypass gas turbine engine includes a variable area fan nozzle having a first fan nacelle section and a second fan nacelle section. The variable area fan nozzle is in communication with a fan bypass flow path, the first fan nacelle section defines an intermittent trailing edge which defines a multiple of ports and the second fan nacelle section defines a multiple of doors, each of the multiple of doors match each of the multiple of ports such that a fan nacelle trailing edge is continuous when the second fan nacelle section is selectively translated to a closed position relative to the first fan nacelle section.

Gas turbine engine with variable area fan nozzle

A slider seal assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a housing, a seal plate moveable relative to the housing and a retaining ring. The housing includes an outer surface, an inner surface, and a recessed opening between the outer surface and the inner surface. The seal plate is received within the recessed opening. The inner surface of the housing includes a curved portion which is curved in an outward direction toward the outer surface.
