A rectangular panel which, on the first and on the second pair of opposite edges, has coupling parts configured for easy installation in a wall or ceiling covering. A locking occurs between the coupled panels; and a wall or ceiling covering that includes such panels.

Method for manufacturing floor panels, wherein is started from panels, these panels, at their lower side, are provided with at least one guiding groove and these panels, at least at two opposite sides, are provided with profiled edge regions that comprise coupling parts, characterized in that at least one of the aforementioned two profiled edge regions is formed such that this region, seen in a cross-section of the panel, transverse to the guiding groove, extends at the lower side of the panel at least up to the guiding groove. Further, the invention also relates to still other methods, for manufacturing as well as packaging of floor panels, and also relates to devices used therewith, as well as to floor panels.

A method for manufacturing floor panels, wherein boards of laminate material are formed by means of a press treatment and wherein these boards are divided into several panels, from which the actual floor panels are formed. In a press treatment of the method, at least one impression is provided in the board, which at least is employed as a guiding groove for guiding the aforementioned board or the subsequently obtained panels in further treatments.

A floor panel for a floor covering includes a pair of two opposite sides having coupling parts allowing to couple the floor panel to similar floor panels. The coupling parts, in a coupled condition, provide locking in vertical and horizontal directions. The floor panel has a core including two core material parts provided as a sandwich structure between an upper layer and a bottom layer, and respectively extending up to one of the two sides. A locking element is in the form of an insert located at one of the sides of the coupling parts, and is mounted in the core material part. The locking element is of the type which, in the coupled condition of two of such floor panels, effects a locking in a vertical direction. The two core material parts include a different basic material or a basic material with different properties.
