A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing and an impeller disposed within the housing. The impeller is configured to rotate relative to the housing to cause blood to flow through the housing. A motor is operably coupled to the impeller, and the motor is configured to rotate the impeller relative to the housing. A catheter is coupled to the motor, and a pressure sensor is coupled to the catheter and disposed proximally relative to the housing.

Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed towards apparatuses, systems, and methods that include a percutaneous circulatory support device. The percutaneous circulatory support device is used with a guidewire and may include a housing having a blood outlet aperture. A circulatory support device includes a flexible cannula having a fluid outlet at a proximal end, and a pump assembly disposed at a distal end of the flexible cannula. The pump assembly includes a pump housing having a fluid inlet defined therein, a motor disposed within a distal end of the housing, and an impeller, driven to rotate by the motor, and configured to push blood toward the fluid outlet. A method of deploying the device to a subject's heart using an insertion manifold that prevents a protective tube from advancing with the device into a delivery shaft, is also disclosed. Pushing the device into and then out of the shaft expands and secures a cage at a location in the vasculature.

The example medical device for occluding the left atrial appendage includes an expandable member having a first end region, a second end region and an inflation cavity. The example medical device includes at least one fixation member having a first end and a second end coupled to the expandable member. The at least one fixation member is configured to move from a delivery configuration to a deployed configuration in response to an expansion of the expandable member. Additionally, the example medical device includes a valve member extending at least partially into the inflation cavity and the expandable member is configured to expand and seal the opening of the left atrial appendage.

Closure device

A pressure sensing guidewire includes a distal end and a proximal end. The guidewire includes a tubular member having a distal portion and a proximal portion. The guidewire includes an optical pressure sensor disposed within the distal portion of the tubular member, and a polymer fiber optic cable extending proximally from the optical pressure sensor. The optical pressure sensor is located at a position that is about 3 centimeters or less from the distal end of the pressure sensing guidewire.
