The embodiments of the embodiments of the Nanostructure Lithium Ion Battery are comprised of a multi-layer coaxial assembly formed over a cylindrical core. The multilayers are each comprised of sublayers in order as follows: a copper sublayer with nano 'chicken wire' embedded in the copper sublayer for current collection, a nanostructured aluminum substrate sublayer, a nanostructured cathode sublayer, an electrolyte sublayer, a nanostructured anode sublayer, and a copper interlayer sublayer. The nanobatteries are arranged in layered stacks of nanocells. The nanocells stacks are comprised of a plurality of individual octagonal shaped multilayer nanocells. Each nanocell stack is electrically connected to an array of other nanocells stacks via electrode contacts. A lower copper bus serves as the anode current collector and an upper copper bus serves as the cathode current collector. Pass-throughs connect to the appropriate cathode layers in the multilayer nanocell stacks.

Nanostructure lithium ion battery

A pipeline pig signal made according to this invention houses one or more shielded magnetometer sensors and a microcontroller with adaptive thresholding detection means for reducing the likelihood of false alarms. The adaptive thresholding detection means removes outlier data from the magnetic flux data stream and then passes the outlier-free data stream through four low pass filters. A smoothed magnitude of the data stream is compared to detection limits and, if a passage event has occurred, a recent detection is indicated, a counter of a display unit is incremented, a time of passage is recorded, and both statistics are displayed on the display unit. Because a single object may produce multiple magnetic fields, the detector may be locked-out for a predetermined period of time after the passage event to prevent a second detection of the same object as it passes the detection device.

An optically-powered integrated microstructure pressure sensing system for sensing pressure within a cavity. The pressure sensing system comprises a pressure sensor having an optical resonant structure subject to the pressure within the cavity and having physical properties changing due to changing pressures within the cavity. A substrate supports the optical resonant structure. An input optical pathway evanescently couples light into the optical resonant structure. An output optical pathway collects light from the optical resonance structure. A light source delivers a known light input into the input optical pathway whereby the known light input is evanescently coupled into the optical resonant structure by the input optical pathway and a portion of such light is collected from the optical resonant structure by the output optical pathway. A light detector receives the portion of the light collected from the optical resonant structure, and generates a light signal indicative of such portion of the light collected from the optical resonant structure. A temperature compensation sensor generates a temperature signal indicative of the temperature near the optical resonant structure. A spectrum detection device receives the light signal and temperature signal. The spectrum detection device analyzing the light signal and the temperature signal with a detection algorithm to generating a pressure signal indicative of the pressure within the cavity.
