Grouting method - chemical method

A method of grouting using aqueous solutions of alkali silicate materials in sealing the annular space formed between either a jacket leg or pile sleeve and a pile driven therethrough of an offshore platform, or other similar annular space, to support a column of grout thereon.

Grouting method

An inflatable packer and method for sealing the annulus between an outer member and a pile driven therethrough. The inflatable packer comprises a packer housing, first and second guide rings secured within the packer housing, and an inflatable packer member having its ends secured from axial movement within the packer housing by the first and second guide rings. The method of sealing an annulus between an outer member and a pile driven therethrough comprises the steps of sealing the annulus at a first location, injecting gas into the annulus to expel any material contained within the annulus, sealing the annulus at a second location which is free of material, venting the annulus between the first location and second location while maintaining the annulus free of any material, and injecting grouting material into the annulus between the first location and second location.

Grout distribution system

A retrievable plug for sealing a jacket leg of an offshore platform or similar cylindrical member. The plug comprises a plug body and upper and lower plug body retaining means which restrain the plug body from movement within the jacket leg or similar cylindrical member.

A removable plug for the J-tube of an offshore platform or marine structure comprising a plug housing, plug body releasably retained with the plug housing, and shear type threaded fastening means retaining the plug body within the plug housing. A diaphragm for closing the bore of a tubular piling guide member and/or supporting leg member of a marine platform or similar structure, the diaphragm comprising reinforced elastic material bonded to a plurality of reinforcing members in the periphery of the diaphragm with the diaphragm being positively secured to the guide member and/or leg of the platform by means of two flat annular plates which have fasteners retaining the diaphragm therebetween via holes therein.
