A process to prepare an alpha composition comprising a first ethylene/alpha-olefin/interpolymer fraction and a second ethylene/alpha-olefin/interpolymer fraction; said process comprising polymerizing, in one reactor, a reaction mixture, comprising ethylene and an alpha-olefin, a biphenyl phenol metal complex selected from Structure 1, as described herein, and a biphenyl phenol metal complex selected from Structure 2, as described herein; and alpha compositions prepared therefrom.

Process for the production of polymer compositions with excellent processability

The present disclosure provides an article. In an embodiment, the article includes (A) a top layer composed of a composition composed of (i) from 51 wt % to 90 wt % of a propylene-based polymer, and (ii) from 10 wt % to 49 wt % of an ethylene/octene multi-block copolymer having hard segments and soft segments. The ethylene/octene multi-block copolymer has a soft segment melt temperature (SS-Tm) less than 2° C. The article also includes (B) a bottom layer composed of a textile.

Disclosed herein is a film comprising a polymer blend, the polymer blend comprising a first polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 120,000 to 350,000 grams per mole; and a second polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 15,000 to 75,000 grams per mole; wherein the overall melt index of the polymer blend is less than 8 g/10 minutes when measured as per ASTM D1238 at 2.16 kilograms at 190&#xb0; C. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing a film comprising blending a first polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 120,000 to 350,000 grams per mole; and a second polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 15,000 to 75,000 grams per mole to form a polymer blend; wherein the overall melt index of the polymer blend is less than 8 g/10 minutes when measured as per ASTM D1238 at 2.16 kilograms at 190&#xb0; C.; and forming the polymer blend into a film.

Formulation of elastomer copolymer and block copolymer

A painted article includes a primer layer between a substrate and a paint layer, of which the substrate is the product of a substrate forming composition including an olefin block copolymer and a polypropylene polymer having a density from 0.89 g/cmand 0.92 g/cm. The substrate is free of (1) phthalate-based plasticizer, (2) halogen-containing polymer, and (3) leachable, small polymeric units derived from styrene monomer.

Painted polyolefin articles

The present disclosure provides a food contact article. The food contact article includes a polymeric composition composed of a neat olefin block copolymer. The food contact article exhibits a total color change value, &#x394;E, of less than 20. The polymeric composition provides an article that is suitable for food contact application, the article having softness and stain resistance.

Substantially isotaclic propylene interpolyraets comprise (A) at least 60 weight percent (wt %) units derived from propylene, and (B) between greater than zero and 40 wt % units derived from ethylene, the propylene interpolyrner further characterized by at least one of the following properties: (1) a ratio of less than 1 measured at interpolyraer number average molecular weight (Mn), (2) a relative compositional drift of less than 50%, arid (3) propylene chain segments having a chain isotacticity triad index of at least 70 mole percent.

Long chain branched propylene-alpha-olefin copolymers

The present invention includes a composition comprising a coupled impact propylene copolymer. Preferably, the coupled impact propylene copolymer has an elastomeric phase that is present in an amount of at least 9 weight percent of the coupled propylene copolymer. Articles formed from the coupled propylene copolymer exhibit improved directionally balanced impact properties as compared with articles formed form comparable noncoupled impact propylene copolymers and also exhibit improved ductile-to-brittle transition temperatures compared with comparable noncoupled impact propylene copolymers. The invention also includes methods for making the coupled impact propylene copolymers using coupling agents, preferably, poly(sulfonyl azides). The invention further includes articles of manufacture that are made from the coupled impact propylene copolymer of the invention.

Polyolefin composition with improved impact properties

The present invention includes a coextruded film having at least two layers. The first layer contains a coupled propylene polymer and the second layer contains an in-reactor blend of a linear low density polyethylene fraction and a substantially linear polyethylene fraction. Alternatively, the second layer may include a homogeneously branched linear polyethylene. Preferably, the first layer makes up about 50 weight percent or less of the overall coextruded film structure. The first layer may also contain a polyethylene, such as a linear low density polyethylene, a low density polyethylene, a high density polyethylene, substantially linear polyethylene, a homogeneously branched linear polyethylene, an in-reactor blend of linear low density polyethylene and a substantially linear polyethyelene, and blends thereof.
