A method for implementing an action-based to-do list includes monitoring user actions with a personal management device which is configured to compare the user actions to a task definition file. A processor of the personal management device determines if the user actions fulfill one or more predefined conditions, within the task definition file. If a condition is fulfilled, the processor of the personal management device modifies the to-do list based on the fulfilled condition. A personal management device for implementing an action-based to-do list includes a user interface configured to allow a user to interact with a to-do list application and a processor configured to execute the to-do list application. The to-do list application, when executed, causes the processor to monitor user actions and compare the user actions to a task definition file, determine if the user actions fulfill one or more conditions within the task definition file, and if a condition is fulfilled, modify the to-do list based on the fulfilled condition.

Action-based to-do list

Using a bounding language to control or restrict the changes that can be made to contents of a structured document (e.g., a document encoded in the Extensible Markup Language, or 'XML'), and also includes the bounding language and documents encoded according to the bounding language. A Document Type Definition ('DTD') is defined as a &#x201c;bounding DTD&#x201d;, and one or more structured documents containing editing restrictions are defined according to this DTD. A processing component uses a structured document containing editing restrictions as input, and programmatically determines which fields of another structured document can be edited, which fields should be hidden, and so forth. By restricting the parts of the file that can be edited, users who need to do the editing are shielded from irrelevant details, and can carry out their task with less risk of making errors (and without needing to understand the details of the structured document markup language).

Structured document bounding language

One embodiment provides a device comprising at least one processor, and a storage device storing instructions that when executed by the at least one processor causes the at least one processor to perform operations. The operations include receiving one or more user preferences for a first user, and, in response to the first user of the device initiating a communication, determining a current context of the first user. The current context identifies at least one of the following: a current location of the first user, whether the first user is stationary or driving, and a type of communication channel utilized for the communication. The operations further include selecting a communication format to facilitate the communication based on the current context, a recipient of the communication, and the one or more user preferences for the first user.

Automated response system providing customized prompts based on user situation

A system, method and program product for prioritizing visual objects for a configurable interface. A system is provided that includes a computer system having: a grouping system for defining a group of members and for assigning weights to members of the group; a behavior analysis system for collecting behaviors of the members of the group; and a prioritization system that prioritizes visual objects based on the collected behaviors and weights assigned to the members of the group.
