Techniques for facilitating one or more operating modes for monitoring of an intelligent home system are disclosed. The techniques facilitate detecting an adverse condition in a building, generating an alert based on the detection, sending a notification about the alert to a user (e.g., to a mobile device), awaiting a user response, and determining whether to send the alert to a central monitoring system to facilitate notification of an appropriate responder for the adverse condition. Determining whether to send the alert to the central monitoring system may be based on an affirmative command from the user or a failure to receive any command from the user. The user may be billed for the service of notifying an appropriate responder provided by central monitoring system regularly, intermittently when the user is away from the building, or on a per-alert basis.

In a computer-implemented method of generating event notifications, in-home data is received. The in-home data and environment data (e.g., weather, law enforcement, etc.) is generated by, or based on information generated by, a device located at a residence of an individual, and is analyzed to determine whether it is indicative of an event that should be reported to one or more neighboring residences and/or businesses. If the data is indicative of such an event, a notification is generated and transmitted to the relevant residences and/or businesses.

The user may be notified via at least one of a telephone call, text message, email, or application notification. The user may provide instructions to the method and system via at least one of a telephone call, text message, email, application command, or web script. Systems and methods receive, from a building, an inventory identifying a plurality of electronic devices associated with a building automation system. The systems and methods compare the inventory to an additional inventory associated with an additional building automation system of an additional building to determine that the inventory is the same as or similar to the additional inventory, wherein the additional inventory identifies a plurality of additional electronic devices. The systems and methods further identify an automation scene that coordinates operation of at least a portion of the plurality of additional electronic devices and provide the automation scene to the building for implementation in the building automation system.

A method, system, and computer-readable medium that facilitate the reception of usage data about the utilization of an intelligent home system and recommend intelligent home system products based on the usage data. The method, system, and computer-readable medium facilitate the analysis of the usage data to determine whether to recommend intelligent home system products and which, if any, intelligent home system products to recommend. Recommendations may be generated by comparing the usage data to an updated products list or an upgraded products list. Recommendations may be generated by comparing the usage data to a similar products list. The similar products list may be generated by analyzing previously received usage data to determine which products are often used together. Recommendations may be generated by comparing the usage data to a similar customers list. The similar customers list may be generated by analyzing previously received usage data to determine which products are used by other, similar users. Recommendations may be presented to a user if the intelligent home system.

A method, system, and computer-readable medium that facilitate the reception of usage data about the utilization of an intelligent home system and insurance claims data and recommend intelligent home system products based on the claims data. The method, system, and computer-readable medium facilitate the analysis of the claims data to determine whether to recommend intelligent home system products and which, if any, intelligent home system products to recommend. Recommendations may be generated by comparing a user's usage data to the claims data. Recommendations may be generated by comparing the usage data to products related to the claims submitted by one or more similar claimants in the claims data. Recommendations may be presented to a user if the intelligent home system.

Automation and security application store suggestions based on claims data

A home automation system logs use of automation equipment such as lights, appliances, door and window openings, motion, etc., and suggests home automation scenes based on an analysis of the logs. An inventory of system equipment can be compared to scenes used by other systems with a similar equipment inventory to develop suggested scenes. A server may analyze insurance claim data and police reports to suggest scenes, in view of a system inventory, that could help minimize particular losses.
