The presently disclosed subject-matter relates to an ophthalmic lens for affecting the progression of myopia in an eye of an individual having a certain prescription (Rx). In one aspect, the presently disclosed subject-matter refers to a customization of the optical property profile based on the age and conventional prescription of an individual. According to another aspect of the presently disclosed subject-matter, a process in which the customization is performed inter alia by correlating between the conventional prescription and the peripheral optical property at the temporal and/or nasal retina is proposed. According to another aspect of the presently disclosed subject-matter an asymmetric myopia control lens with cylinder customization is provided.

Various embodiments disclose a quasi progressive lens including a first optical zone capable of providing distance vision, a second optical zone capable of providing near vision and a transition zone connecting the first and second optical zones. A method for adjusting an original prescription to be used in manufacturing an ophthalmic lens for correcting vision of a patient, the method comprising: obtaining an original prescription based on an eye vision measurement performed by virtue of a real optical system; obtaining supplementary input data associated with the eye vision measurement; calculating a simulated optical system simulating the real optical system, by using at least the original prescription and the supplementary input data; and calculating an adjusted prescription by using at least the original prescription and the simulated optical system, to reflect the effect of the supplementary input data on the eye vision measurement.
