Techniques for modifying a transmission rate of a device having a plurality of transmission rate options are described herein. The techniques include a method comprising receiving data from a sensor indicating movement of an electronic device, the electronic device having a plurality of transmission rate options. Fail ratio metrics are gathered. The fail ratio metrics indicate a ratio of failed transmissions to successful transmissions for rate option during device movement. The method includes determining whether a given rate option has a fail ratio above a predetermined threshold; and, if so, disabling the given rate option while the device is moving.

Transmission modification

A mobile communication device may include a radio transceiver and a baseband processing circuit adapted to interact with the radio transceiver to transmit and receive radio signals. The baseband processing circuit may be configured to provide target criteria to a proxy discovery device, the target criteria characterizing a desired wireless connection of the mobile communication device, receive a proxy report from the proxy discovery device detailing discovery results that satisfy the target criteria, and select a provider device that satisfies the target criteria to establish a wireless connection with based on the proxy report.

Radio communication devices and methods for performing wireless peer-to-peer discovery

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and computer-readable media related to adaptive device transmission power to reduce interference. In some embodiments, a device may establish a peer-to-peer connection with a second user device. The device may receive information from an access point and may generate or determine additional information. Using the received, generated, and/or determined information, the device may determine to reduce its transmission power and may facilitate the reduction of transmission power for associated devices.

Embodiments of systems and methods for jurisdiction-based adaptive communication are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a wireless device may be configured to store different jurisdiction identifiers, each jurisdiction identifier in association with a stored set of wireless communication operation constraints. In some such embodiments, the wireless device may receive a jurisdiction identifier nominally representative of a jurisdiction in which communication hardware of the wireless device is located, and may validate or invalidate the received jurisdiction identifier. If the received jurisdiction identifier is validated, the wireless device may apply the stored set of wireless communication operation constraints corresponding to the received jurisdiction identifier to adapt the operation of the communication hardware of the wireless device.
