The invention relates to a dental material comprising a polymer resin, particulate fillers and randomly oriented inorganic fibres, wherein an average largest dimension of the particulate fillers is 0.3-1.2 μm, the inorganic fibres have a diameter of 4-8 micrometre and an aspect ratio of 20-80 based on an average length of the inorganic fibres and the dental material is void of other fibres. Additionally, the total amount of particulate fillers and inorganic fibres is 70-85 wt-% of the total weight of the material, and the amount of inorganic fibres is 20-35 wt-% of the total amount of particulate fillers and inorganic fibres.

The present invention relates to a composite comprising a structural part, a porous part, and at least two interconnecting parts arranged at a distance from each other and extending from the structural part to the porous part, thus connecting them to each other. The implant is characterized in that each interconnecting part is in the form of a band having a length, a width and a height, the width and the height both being independently at most 20% of the length of the band, and in that at least one of the interconnecting parts is at least partially embedded into the structural and porous parts.

Composite and its use

The invention relates to a prepreg comprising a base part, said base part comprising fibers and a matrix, said matrix being at least partially uncured. The prepreg is characterized in that it further comprises a surface part consisting essentially of bioactive filler material, said bioactive filler material being in particle form and at least partially and at most partially embedded in said base part. The invention relates to polymerizable multifunctional polymer composites and compositions, which are suitable for dental and medical applications, such as dental prostheses, filling materials, implants and the like. It also relates to a method for the manufacture of such polymerizable multifunctional polymer composites and compositions, and to the use of the multifunctional polymer composites and compositions in dental and medical applications. A multifunctional polymer composite or composition is manufactured from 30-99 wt % of a monomer mixture containing 30-99 wt % of a dendrimer or a combination of dendrimers and 1-70 wt % of a reactive solvent or a combination of reactive solvents, and 0.1-70 wt % of a nanofiller or a combination of nanofillers.

Dental and medical polymer composites and compositions

A prepreg containing fibers and a curable matrix, the prepreg having a core and a surface part encasing the core, where the matrix of the core and of the surface part are made of the same material and where the proportion of the matrix to the fibers is higher in the core than in the surface part.
