A belt for a machine for the production of a fibrous web, in particular paper or cardboard, the belt including a carrier structure, a first material which forms a first pattern on at least one side of the carrier structure such that a portion of the carrier structure remaining exposed, and a second material which forms a second pattern, the second pattern being applied onto the first pattern, wherein the second pattern is completely disposed within the first pattern and a method for producing same.

A fabric for use on a paper machine includes a plurality of filaments woven together. At least a portion of the filaments have a generally flat machine side base, a generally flat web side face, and a pair of generally flat side walls extending between the base and the face. The portion of the filaments having a generally trapezoidal shaped cross section is defined by the base, the face and the pair of side walls.

A press fabric having a plurality of surface pressing plates on a sheet side of the fabric imparts an impression onto a sheet of paper web during a pressing process. The surface pressing plates are preferably resin pressing plates, and form at least one of a random pattern of dots, a predetermined pattern of dots, a grid pattern of dots, a regular grid pattern of lines, an irregular grid pattern of lines a plurality of squiggly lines, a plurality of wavy lines, a plurality of straight lines, words and pictures.

Patterned press fabric

A through air dryer (TAD) fabric having a composite configuration whereby side fabric portions made of a more resistant material are woven to the main body portion of the fabric. Side fabric portions that are not protected from the paper web, and therefore exposed to harsher environmental conditions than the portion of the fabric covered by the paper web, deteriorate faster. By replacing the side portions that are exposed to harsher environment with more resistant material, the TAD fabric will last longer.
