A pump assembly and a method for sensing rotary motion of the pump therein are disclosed. The pump assembly includes a pump, a controller, and an optional driven electric motor. The components may be axially aligned and mounted relative to one another. The controller includes a circuit board that is oriented in an axial direction of the pump assembly so that it faces in a radial direction. A 3D rotary sensor is mounted on the circuit board and is designed to detect motion parallel to its front face and motion in a plane perpendicular to its front face, including rotary motion of the pump, for output to the controller. The controller is configured to control the pump via controlling the drive shaft of the motor or pump.

Disclosed is a gerotor pump including an inner gear mounted on a first axis, an outer gear mounted on a second axis and meshing internally with the inner gear in an offset manner, and an electrical motor including a rotor and a stator having a radial gap therebetween in a radial direction. The pump also includes a spindle fixedly coupled to the outer gear to facilitate maintaining the radial gap. The spindle is rotatably coupled for rotation about the second axis. The spindle aids in maintaining a consistent radial gap during operation of the gerotor pump. The inner gear may be coupled to a drive shaft for driving the gears. The gerotor pump may be driven via an electric or mechanical driver. A pressure plate may also be positioned adjacent the gerotor gears and within the housing. The spindle and pressure plate help secure the pump parts both axially and radially.

A pump assembly and a method for cooling the same are disclosed. The pump assembly includes a pump, a controller, and a driven electric motor. The pump and the electric motor are on opposing axial sides of the controller. The assembly also has a heat conductive plate positioned between the pump and the controller that conducts heat from the controller. A transfer passage is provided for receiving pressurized fluid output from the pump and to direct the fluid along and in contact with the heat conductive plate to conduct heat therefrom into the pressurized fluid. An outlet passage communicates with the assembly outlet to discharge the pressurized fluid.

A powered actuator unit for use in a closure system of a motor vehicle. The powered actuator unit includes a common housing configured to house a brushless DC (BLDC) electronic motor unit, a gear drive unit, a shift support arrangement, and a controller arrangement. The motor unit has a stator unit that includes a plurality of electromagnetic subassemblies each having a carrier and a winding unit. The carrier includes an outer ring segment being planar and an inner ring segment being arcuate and a web segment interconnecting the outer ring segment and the inner ring segment and the plurality of electromagnetic subassemblies are each adapted to abut one another in an annular arrangement upon assembly. The outer ring segments define an outer peripheral surface of the stator unit having a polygonal cross-section and the inner ring segments define a rotor cavity having a circular cross-section.

An electric water pump, and more specifically an electric water pump having an improved wet sleeve so that the water pump is free of a housing. The electric water includes a pump rotor having a shaft. A wetsleeve surrounds the rotor and has a cap, a sleeve that houses the rotor, and a seat in communication with the shaft of the rotor so that the seat assists in supporting the shaft a stator. Surrounding the wet sleeve and the rotor is a volute covering an upper portion of the rotor, wet sleeve, and stator. The electric water pump further includes a rubber boot covering a lower portion of the rotor, wet sleeve, and stator and is in communication with the volute forming a cover.

An externally mounted electric fluid pump for pumping fluid within a power transmission device is disclosed. The pump includes a housing adapted to be mounted to an external surface of the power transmission device. The pump is positioned within the housing and includes an input member. An electric motor is positioned within the housing and drives the input member. A controller is positioned within the housing to control the electric motor and vary the output of the pump.
