A trim element includes at least one support layer having an inner face and an outer face and at least one functional layer of carbon material extending over at least part of the inner face and/or over at least part of the outer face of the support layer. A part of the functional layer defines a pattern having at least one conductive area of carbon material and at least one non-conductive area formed by a through-opening in the functional layer, the conductive area being powered by a current source electrically connected to the conductive area, the pattern forming at least a part of an electrical circuit arranged to perform a function.

Trim element comprising a functional layer made of carbon material

A molding tool and method for producing an interior trim part. A cavity is embodied between a first element and a second element, and a slide is displaceably connected to the first element. A decorative layer is arranged on the first element and a backing is arranged on the second element. A foamable mixture is added to the hollow area between the backing and a reverse side of the decorative layer, such that a foam layer fills the hollow area. A distance between the first element and the second element is increased to enlarge the hollow area. During this process, the slide is pressed against a side facing away from the reverse side of the decorative layer, such that the hollow area is sealed with the reverse side of the decorative layer pressed against a lateral surface of the backing and/or against a lateral surface of the second element.

Method for producing an interior trim part of a vehicle and molding tool

A device for manufacturing inner trim elements which are formed by a rigid carrier and a cover layer, between which elements a polymer foam layer is arranged. The carrier is fixable on a first molding tool element, and the cover layer is fixable between the outer edge of the first molding tool element and the outer edge of a second molding tool element. In the molding tool, a cavity is formed between the carrier and the cover layer, wherein a foamable polymer is introducible into the cavity via at least one through-hole which is formed in the carrier and the first molding tool element. The distance between the first and the second molding tool element is enlargeable during the foaming process. At least one through-hole for an escape of air and reactively formed gases out of the cavity is formed in the carrier and in the first molding tool element.
