The present disclosure relates to a differentiated cell population of endothelial cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells. The present invention also relates to a composition, a system and a kit comprising those cells and uses thereof. The present disclosure also described the combination of arterial ECs derived from human pluripotent stem cells with a microfluidic system to create a vascular kit for high-throughput drug screening and/or toxicology analysis. This technology may find particular use for the identification of drugs that may have a fetal cytotoxic effect.

The present disclosure describes a method and composition for enhancing the survival of hematopoietic stem cells, preferably CD34+ derived from human umbilical cord or peripheral blood, in hypoxic and serum-deprived conditions by cultivating the cells in medium containing lysophosphatidic acid, preferably further comprising a gel, namely a biomimetic gel. The method and composition may be used in medicine or cosmetic application, in particular, in treatment of cardiac tissue and/or cardiac diseases, and/or in the treatment of wound healing namely diabetic wound healing.

The present invention provides a vehicle for delivering various chemicals, compositions and proteins to stem cells and embryoid bodies. The vehicle may be biocompatible and biodegradable polymer microparticles. Typically the particles will contain at least a growth factor for delivery to the embryoid bodies, and generally the growth factor induces differentiation of the cells in the embryoid body along a specific lineage.
