A shale shaker comprises a base and at least one deck coupled to the base. The deck is configured to support a mud screen. The shake also comprises a support frame coupled to the base and further includes an asymmetric planetary drive assembly coupled to the support frame for vibrating the support frame and the deck. The asymmetric planetary drive assembly comprises a flywheel gearbox a planetary gear and at least one eccentric weight coupled to the planetary gear. The planetary gear comprises a central axis bore that receives a planetary gear shaft through a central hole in the planetary gear. The gearbox receives a main shaft through a central hole in the flywheel gearbox. The planetary gear shaft is offset from the main shaft. The eccentric weight is coupled to the planetary gear offset from the main shaft.

Asymmetric planetary drive assembly for use in shakers

A method to inject a slurry into a subterranean formation includes measuring characteristic data from a well in communication with the subterranean formation, estimating downhole properties of the slurry using the measured characteristic data, measuring surface properties of the slurry with a measurement apparatus, determining optimal surface properties for the slurry from the estimated downhole properties, comparing the measured surface properties with the determined optimal surface properties, modifying the slurry until the measured surface properties are within tolerance values of the determined optimal surface properties, and injecting the modified slurry into the subterranean formation through the well.

Apparatus and method to monitor slurries for waste re-injection

A borehole includes a tubular member, a sealing member for sealing an annulus between the tubular member and the borehole, a pump for pumping fluidic materials into the tubular member, and an automatic choke for controllably releasing pressurized fluidic materials out of the annulus. A system and method monitor the operating pressure within the tubular member and compare the actual operating pressure with a desired operating pressure. The difference between the actual and desired operating pressure is then processed to control the operation of the automatic choke to thereby controllably bleed pressurized fluidic materials out of the annulus thereby creating back pressure within the borehole.
