Channel State Information (CSI) is reported by a subscriber station to a base station. The CSI is reported periodically for at least two physical uplink control channels (PUCCH). In case of a collision between a report for a first PUCCH and a report for the second PUCCH, each of the report types is partitioned into one of a number of classes, which include: a first class for rank indicator related report types and wideband (WB) W1 report types; a second class for WB report types or WB channel quality indicator report types; and a third class for subband related report types or W1 report types. A priority rule assigns a priority to each of the classes. The CSI feedback reports are transmitted according to the priority rule such that the report type included in a higher class is transmitted and the report type included in the lower class are dropped.

Apparatus and method for periodic channel state reporting in a wireless network

A mobile station for use in a wireless network. The mobile station transmits feedback reports to a base station of the wireless network. The feedback reports comprise a first feedback report, a second feedback report and a third feedback report. The first feedback report includes a precoder type indication (PTI) value that indicates at least one of a period of the second feedback report and a period of the third feedback report. The PTI value indicates a ratio of the second feedback report period to the third feedback report period. The PTI value also indicates the selected feedback information contained in the second feedback report and the third feedback report.

System and method for PUCCH subband feedback signaling in a wireless network

A base station includes a transmit path circuitry to transmit an indication of whether a subscriber station is configured with precoding matrix indicator/rank indicator (PMI/RI) reporting. A wireless communication system includes a number of base stations capable of communicating with a plurality of subscriber stations. The base station coordinates transmission of resource blocks with a transmission of resource blocks from a second base station. The resource blocks include at least one reference signal (RS) patterns. In addition, base station punctures a plurality of resource elements in the resource blocks that might overlap with one of the CRS patterns in another resource block transmitted by the second base station such that no data is transmitted in the plurality of punctured resource elements. A base station for use in a wireless network operable to communicate with a plurality of mobile stations. The base station transmits a downlink frame to a first mobile station. The downlink frame comprises time-frequency resource elements allocated in a plurality of physical resource blocks. The base station transmits the plurality of physical resource blocks in bundles having a bundle size that is a function of the system bandwidth configuration and the base station uses the same precoder for all physical resource blocks in the same bundle. The bundle size is from one physical resource block to three physical resource blocks.
