A set of at least one broadcasting message in a surrounding environment is received. If part of the at least one broadcasting message is transmitted from the first type base station, then a frequency of the small cell is calibrated according to one of the at least one first type base station whose signal strength is maximum among all of the at least one first type base station. If all of the at least one broadcasting message are not transmitted from the first type base station, the frequency of the small cell is calibrated according to at least one second type base station.

A method for processing user equipment (UE) connection under a mixed mode and a femtocell system are provided. The method for processing UE connection is used in a femtocell for processing the connection of a UE. The method includes the following steps. A connection request is received from a low priority UE under a mixed mode. Whether the measurement results corresponding to the femtocell satisfy threshold settings is determined in response to the connection request, wherein the measurement results include a path loss corresponding to the femtocell. If the measurement results satisfy the threshold settings, then the low priority UE is allowed to be connected to the femtocell. In one embodiment, suitable resource allocation, such as the allocation of power and code resource, is provided after the low priority UE is connected to the femtocell under the mixed mode.

Method and system for allowing low priority UEs to connect to a femtocell operating in a mixed mode based on path loss

The disclosure provides a method and a system for transmitting wireless data streams. After a user equipment sends a packet data protocol context activation request signaling to a base station, the base station checks whether the user equipment is allowed to activate a local Internet protocol access (LIPA) function. If the base station decides that the user equipment is allowed to activate the LIPA function, the base station instructs a core network to execute authentication accordingly. The base station disconnects a signaling connection between the base station and the core network. The base station assigns a private IP address to the user equipment, so that the user equipment having the private IP address performs the LIPA function and is directly connected to an external network through the base station without going through the core network, and a data transmission is performed between the base station and the user equipment.

A congestion control method for a femtocell is provided. When the femtocell is not congested, the femtocell is prompted to enter an access permitted mode. When the femtocell enters the access permitted mode, the femtocell sends a system information modification notification. When the femtocell enters the access permitted mode, the femtocell repeatedly adjusts at least one cell selection parameter or at least one cell reselection parameter to gradually increase a coverage of the femtocell.

A downlink orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) code assignment method is provided. It is determined whether a spreading factor required by a service request is greater than a remaining capacity of assignable spreading factors of a code tree. If not, the code tree is searched from a root until a node of a layer corresponding to the required spreading factor is reached and thus defined as a first node. During the searching, when a searched node is unassigned, the searching continues leftward in a lower layer; and when the searched node is in an assigned state, the searching continues rightward in a same layer of the searched node. It is determined, from the first node, whether any assignable code is available in the layer corresponding to the required spreading factor. If available, an assignable code is assigned to a communication service corresponding to the service request.

The method includes steps of: accessing a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) list in the femtocell, the PLMN list recording a circuit-switched (CS)/packet-switched (PS) service weighting; determining a weighting parameter with reference to history CS/PS amount information and the CS/PS service weighting of the femtocell; selecting n macrocells from the PLMN list according to the weighting parameter, n being a natural number; and filling the n macrocells into the neighbor list.

A pilot power setting method and a femtocell using the same are disclosed. The pilot power setting method is for using in a femtocell which is operated in a closed mode to provide service to a user equipment (UE). The method includes the following steps. A communication link connecting the UE and the femtocell is established. A command is provided to the UE, which returns n items of path loss information to the femtocell in a pre-determined period according to the command, wherein n is a natural number which is greater than 1. A maximum path loss information between the UE and the femtocell is obtained from the n items of path loss information in the pre-determined period. A predicted pilot power is obtained according to the maximum path loss information. A pilot power of the femtocell is set according to the predicted pilot power.

A power control method applied to a radio network controller (RNC), a node B and a user equipment is provided. The method include steps of: determining a target block error rate; identify an initial signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) from a history look-up table (LUT) according to the target block error rate; estimating a measured block error rate between the RNC and the node B via the RNC; adjusting the initial SIR with reference to the measured block error rate and the target block error rate to generate an updated SIR; and controlling a signal transmission power of the user equipment with reference to the updated SIR via the node B.

A power control method performing a power control operation between a radio network controller and a node B is provided. The method includes steps of: calculating a packet error rate threshold and a base received packet count according to a target block error rate (BLER) and a precision of the target BLER; obtaining an accumulated received packet count and an accumulated packet error count; increasing a target signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) of the node B when the accumulated packet error count is greater than a product of the accumulated received packet count and the packet error rate threshold; decreasing the target SIR when the accumulated received packet count is greater than or equal to a product of the base received packet count and a threshold parameter; and resetting the accumulated received packet count and the accumulated packet error count after the target SIR is adjusted.

Power control method and radio network controller

A transmission method of a femtocell includes the following steps. The femtocell receives and temporarily stores multiple real-time transport protocol (RTP) packets from a UE in a buffer. When the RTP packets are temporarily stored for a time period, the femtocell samples the buffer at a sampling rate to generate multiple CS data packets. The CS data packets include a current CS data packet. When there exists no previous CS data packet received from the UE, the femtocell calculates a timestamp of the current CS data packet according to a current timestamp. When there exists the previous CS data packet, the femtocell calculates the timestamp of the current CS data packet according to the timestamp and a connection frame number (CFN) of the previous CS data packet and a CFN of the current CS data packet.

Transmission method of femtocell

After receiving a packet data protocol (PDP) activation request signaling from a user equipment (UE), a base station checks whether to activate a local Internet protocol access (LIPA) function for the UE. If yes, the base station informs a core network (CN) for authentication and signaling control. If the user plane data from the UE is allowed to be transmitted via the LIPA, the base station assigns a private IP address to the UE; and the UE access internet via the base station. The base station determines whether user plane data from the UE passes through the CN; and the CN measures Internet service time provided to the UE. If all user plane data transmitted from the UE are allowed to be transmitted via the LIPA, the base station periodically transmits a data packet to the CN to maintain signaling link.
