A method for transmitting image data to a driver of a display is provided, in which the image data include pixel values each represented by a number of bits. The method includes the steps of sequentially transmitting at least two bits of one of the pixel values during a first period through a data line; and sequentially transmitting at least two bits of another one of the pixel values during a second period next to the first period through the data line, in which an order of the last bit transmitted during the first period is the same as that of the first bit transmitted during the second period.

Method for transmitting image data to driver of display

The present invention is directed to a digital image content-adaptive contrast improving method. The method includes forming a piecewise linear tone remapping function for a digital image according to the histogram thereof. The piecewise linear tone remapping function is formed by repeatedly performing a first and a second step. The first step determines a starting linear tone mapping function for a specific range of luminance values. The second step generates a new tone mapping function for the specific range of luminance values based on the starting linear tone mapping function and the histogram. An apparatus for implementing the method is also provided.

Content-adaptive contrast improving method and apparatus for digital image

A color correction method of an RGB signal includes the following steps. First, an original RGB-coordinate point in an RGB color space is defined according to the RGB signal, and a reference plane is obtained according to the original RGB-coordinate point. The original RGB-coordinate point locates on the reference plane, all points on the reference plane have the same value with the original RGB-coordinate point, and the reference lane is orthogonal to a value axis. Next, an intersection point of the value axis and the reference plane is defined as an origin of the reference plane. Afterwards, the hue, saturation and value of the RGB signal are independently and continuously adjusted respectively by rotating the original RGB-coordinate point around the value axis, moving the original RGB-coordinate point towards to or away from the origin and shifting the original RGB-coordinate point along the value axis to obtain a new RGB-coordinate point.

The ambient light controller controls the intensity of one or more ambient light sources based on the ambient light pattern.

This invention provides a method and computer-readable medium for detecting flesh-tone regions in pictures, images, and videos. First, a flesh-tone axis is defined in a color space coordinate system, the flesh-tone axis passing through both the center of a flesh-tone region and the origin of the color space coordinate system. A perpendicular point, is then calculated on the flesh-tone axis as being the point having the shortest distance to an input pixel. A first distance and a second distance are then calculated based on the coordinates of the input pixel, the perpendicular point and the center of the flesh-tone region. The determination as to whether the input pixel is in the flesh-tone region can be made based on the first distance and second distance.

A method and a circuit for resolving the out-of-phase problem between a color burst signal and a sub-carrier signal of a television system. The first or second de-interlacing unit receives the interlaced image outputted from the pattern recognizing unit and outputs the non-interlaced image accordingly.

A de-interlacing device and method therefor for de-interlacing an image. The image includes at least one field, which includes a plurality of pixels arranged in an M*N matrix. The de-interlacing device is for determining the brightness value of a current pixel and includes the following elements. A motion detector is for determining whether or not the current pixel is motional. An edge detector detects an edge type of the current pixel if the current pixel is motional. An edge-based de-interlacer includes a reference pixel determiner for determining a plurality of edge reference pixels having the strongest correlation with the current pixel according to the edge type, and a brightness value determiner for deriving the brightness value of the current pixel according to the edge reference pixels.
