A robot swing structure uses a swing bracket to be in combination with a curved rack, and a transmission gear of a power mechanism to be in engagement with the curved rack. Whereby, when a first end of the curved rack is positioned at the transmission gear, the curved rack and swing bracket are allowed to be swung to incline downward (as if the robot head lowers or bows); when a second end of the curved rack is positioned at the transmission gear, the curved rack and swing bracket are allowed to be in a transverse state; and when a stop section of the curved rack is positioned at the transmission gear, the curved rack and swing bracket are allowed to be in a upright state, thereby making the curved rack and swing bracket to have three swing stopping states.

In a method for adjusting a write strategy, data is written into the optical disc according to a first write strategy in forms of a first type of data storage structures with variable lengths and a second type of data storage structures with variable lengths. A plurality of the first type of data storage structures corresponding to a specified reference length are located, and the recording lengths thereof are operated with the specified reference length to obtain a first averaged deviation. A plurality of the second type of data storage structures formed next to the first type of data storage structures are located, and the recording lengths thereof are operated with respective reference lengths to obtain a second averaged deviation. A parameter of the first write strategy is adjusted so as to generate a second write strategy for subsequently writing data into the optical disc.

Method for adjusting write strategy

A method of erasing an erasable disc. When an optical drive is erasing a DVD-RW disc, a write mode, instead of a conventional erase mode, is used to execute an erase operation. In the write mode, the invention sets current values of individual current paths in a laser diode drive circuit such that a laser diode always outputs a constant erase power (Pe) onto the DVD-RW disc-no matter how a write pulse signal changes. Thus, after a starting position of the DVD-RW disc is determined, the optical drive only needs to write a data amount of n ECC blocks to complete the disc erasing operation without continuously detecting the LPP (Land Pre-Pit) data block to obtain a stop erasing position on the disc in the conventional optical drive.

A structure and a method of managing multiple sections of a buffer provide an initial block register and a memory unit. A buffer managing unit is capable of operating consecutively in a specific section set between the initial block register and the end block register. When the pickup head leaves the original track and skips to another track to read data, the initial block register and the end block register are reset. The contents in the original register are stored in one division of the memory unit. In this way, the original data stored in the specific section is not abandoned. When the pickup head needs to read the data in the original track, the contents in the registers are restored from the division of the memory unit to the registers.
