The invention generally relates to electronic collaboration sessions and, more particularly, to systems and methods for providing reconnection to and migration of electronic collaboration sessions. A method for managing a collaboration session includes providing a computer infrastructure structured and arranged to store data regarding a plurality of clients of a collaboration session, and monitor a connection of each of the plurality of clients to a host system. The computer infrastructure is further operable to (i) migrate the plurality of clients to a new host system after determining that a number of the plurality of clients experiencing connection problems with the first host system exceeds a threshold value and/or (ii) present customized summary data to at least one of the plurality of clients after the at least one of the plurality of clients reconnects to the collaboration session after having been disconnected from the collaboration session.

Reconnection to and migration of electronic collaboration sessions

In an illustrative embodiment, a computer implemented method for providing remote system recovery services is provided. The computer implemented method generates bootable system recovery images to form a set of bootable system recovery images, creates a list of authorized users from a set of subscribers, and receives a request for a bootable system recovery image, including a subscriber identifier, to form a received request. The computer implemented method further authenticates the subscriber identifier in the received request and sends the bootable system recovery image to the subscriber. Responsive to a determination that the user selected additional services, the computer implemented method performs the selected services.

Provision of remote system recovery services

A mechanism is provided for scheduling and reserving virtual meeting locations in a calendaring application. Participants use a calendaring application to schedule meetings. If the meeting takes place in a location within the virtual persistent world, then the calendaring application sends the meeting information, including virtual user IDs of the invitees, meeting location, and other virtual world requirements or parameters for the meeting, to a software agent. The software agent receives the meeting information and generates a script for creating the meeting location and a script for destroying the meeting location.

Scheduling and reserving virtual meeting locations in a calendaring application

A system and method for remotely recording television programs using a remote redundant recording system in case of local DVR system failure. The system and method enables a subscriber station to transmit a plurality of recorded timers to a television provider's head end where the timers are associated with television programs the subscriber desires to have remotely recording in case of a local DVR failure. This system and method also enables the data processor at the television provider's head end to monitor the digital recording device while the programs selected are being broadcast, and in the event of a power outage, record the program selected on the data storage space.
