An exemplary method includes an attack traffic mitigation system 1) identifying a range of ports left open by a firewall for a network element to receive network traffic provided by a computing device, 2) designating a subset of one or more ports included in the range of open ports as being included in a legitimate port range configured to receive legitimate network traffic provided by the computing device, and 3) directing the network element to drop network traffic provided by the computing device and received by each port included in the range of open ports that is not included in the legitimate port range. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Methods and systems for mitigating attack traffic directed at a network element

A device receives, from a user device, a call destined for a call center, and provides an audio CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to Tell Computer and Humans Apart) to the user device in response to the call. The device also receives, from the user device, a response to the audio CAPTCHA, and determines whether the response is correct. The device forwards the call to the call center when the response is correct, and drops the call when the response is incorrect.

Mitigating denial of service attacks on call centers

A device may receive a packet that includes priority information that is based on a priority assigned to bits included in the packet. The priority may be assigned based on scalable code used to encode the bits for transmission. The device may determine that an indicator of network congestion satisfies a threshold, and may schedule the packet for transmission to a user device based on the priority information and the determination that the indicator satisfies the threshold.

Reducing congestion of media delivery over a content delivery network

A server device receives a request for a document of a website from a user device; retrieves the document from a server that hosts that website; retrieves information associated with the user device; determines a toolbar for the document based on the information associated with the user device and information associated with the document; inserts the toolbar into the document; and transmits the document, with the toolbar, to the user device.

Providing toolbars

A server device may receive an indication that a mobile device has enrolled in a cache subscription service. The server device may receive cache parameters associated with the cache subscription service, where the cache parameters are specific to the mobile device. Content may be retrieved from a network and stored, in a memory associated with the one or more server devices, based on the received cache parameters. The server device may receive, from the mobile device, a request for particular content, determine whether the request for particular content corresponds to content that is stored in the memory, and provide, when determining that the requested particular content corresponds to content that is stored in the memory, the corresponding stored content to the mobile device.

Internet cache subscription for wireless mobile users

A server device may store policy information that includes subscription information associated with one or more user devices, and an indication of how to route traffic upon detecting traffic associated with the one or more user devices associated with the stored subscription information. The server device may receive information associated with a particular traffic flow, where at least some of the received information is derived from the particular traffic flow. The server device may compare the received information to the stored policy information. The server device may detect, based on the comparing, that the particular traffic flow is associated with a particular one of the one or more user devices associated with the stored subscription information. The server device may route the particular traffic flow based on the stored policy information.
