Voice processing methods and systems are provided. An utterance is received. The utterance is compared with teaching materials according to at least one matching algorithm to obtain a plurality of matching values corresponding to a plurality of voice units of the utterance. Respective voice units are scored in at least one first scoring item according to the matching values and a personified voice scoring algorithm. The personified voice scoring algorithm is generated according to training utterances corresponding to at least one training sentence in a phonetic-balanced sentence set of a plurality of learners and at least one real teacher, and scores corresponding to the respective voice units of the training utterances of the learners in the first scoring item provided by the real teacher.

Voice processing methods and systems

The present invention is directed to a method for speech-based information retrieval in Mandarin Chinese, considering a monosyllabic structure of the Chinese language, and a whole class of syllable-based indexing terms, including overlapping segments of syllables and syllable pairs separated by a few syllables. The strong discriminating capabilities of such syllable-based indexing, terms have been verified. Special approaches for better utilizing such capabilities, including fusion with the word- and character-level information and improved approaches to obtain better syllable-based features and query expressions and so on, are disclosed too.

Method for speech-based information retrieval in Mandarin Chinese

A mandarin speech input method for directly translating arbitrary sentences of mandarin speech into corresponding Chinese Characters. The present invention is capable of processing a sequence of 'mono-syllables,' '(but each of the characters in the poly-character word is continuous),' 'prosodic segments,' or even a 'whole sentence of continuous mandarin speech.' A prosodic segment comprising one or more words is a segment that is automatically isolated by a speaker by pausing where characters in the prosodic segment are continuous.

System and method of recognizing continuous mandarin speech utilizing

A Mandarin speech input system and method for directly translating arbitrary sentences of Mandarin speech into corresponding Chinese characters is disclosed. The system and method comprises acoustic processing section and linguistic decoding section. The acoustic processing step employs 'Segmental Probability Models' to calculate the probabilities of each of the mono-syllables in the Mandarin speech input and each of the tones thereof for further recognition. The linguistic decoding step employs 'Word-class-based Chinese Language Models' to locate the corresponding Chinese characters for the series of recognized syllables provided by said acoustic processing step. A Mandarin dictation machine translates the provided speeches into characters in accordance with above method and displays the characters. The dictation machine is featured for the 'intelligence' that can 'learn' if taught by including several 'intelligent learning techniques' such as automatic new user's voice learning to enable the new user can use the dictation machine quickly, automatic environmental noise learning to adapt to the environmental noise in the user's environment, and continuous on-line learning of user's voice, special words, wording and sentence styles to continuously improve the correct recognition rate.

The present invention relates to speech scrambling techniques and systems and in particular to a frequency or time domain speech scrambling technique and system which does not require any frame synchronization. This invention is technique and system for scrambling speech signal in frequency or time domain by means of speech analysis-synthesis techniques. The system described above is very attractive because it has avoided the frame synchronization problem. The existing analog telephone channel can be utilized directly for transmission because bandwidth expansion is completely controllable. In addition, the 'key space' is very large and a high degree of security can be achieved.
