A Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process with a hybrid membrane/PSA configuration provides high component recoveries from FT off gas with minimum power consumption. Synthesis gas from a synthesis gas production zone is reacted in an FT reaction zone forming a liquid stream and an off gas stream. The off gas from the FT reaction zone, which contains hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and methane reactants, is recycled to the synthesis gas production zone. A purge stream from the recycle loop is sent to a membrane separation unit where it is separated into a permeate stream and a residue stream. The residue stream is separated in a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit into a fuel gas stream and a second stream. The second stream can be compressed and recycled to the synthesis gas production zone.

Method for making liquid hydrocarbons

Improved processes for production of gasoline with 95 RONC including a C-Cisomerization zone, two Cisomerization zones, and a reforming zone are described. The first and second Cisomerization zones share a common stabilizer which strips off the chlorides and removes the light ends. The capital and operating costs of the processes are reduced through the elimination of one of the stabilizer columns and the associated condenser, receiver, trim cooler, and reboiler. The processes improve the RONC of the Cisomerization product because unconverted methylcyclohexane is recycled back to the second Cisomerization zone to be converted into dimethylcyclopentane.

Integrated stabilizer for two stage C7 isomerization

An integrated process for production of gasoline has been described. The process includes a C-Cisomerization zone, two Cisomerization zones separate by a deisoheptanizer, and a reforming zone. The use of two Cisomerization zones eliminates the need for the large recycle stream from the deisoheptanizer. The low temperature in first Cisomerization zone favors the formation of multi-branched Cparaffins and cyclohexanes and maximizes Cyield. The separation between paraffin and cycloalkane in deisoheptanizer becomes easier due to conversion of cycloalkanes to cyclohexanes in the first Cisomerization zone. Further, the high temperature in second Cisomerization zone favors the formation of higher octane cyclopentanes over cyclohexanes. An aromatic-containing stream can be introduced to second Cisomerization zone. The saturation of the aromatics in the second Cisomerization zone provides heat that increases the reactor outlet temperature in the isomerization reactors to favor cyclopentanes.

An integrated process for production of gasoline has been described. The process includes a C-Cisomerization zone with an associated deisohexanizer, two Cisomerization zones separated by a deisoheptanizer, and a reforming zone. The use of two Cisomerization zones eliminates the need for the large recycle stream from the deisoheptanizer. The Ccycloalkanes and heavies from the deisohexanizer are fed to the second Cisomerization zone to increase the amount of 95 RONC gasoline produced. A higher percentage of 95 RONC gasoline may be achieved by further recycling Cfrom deisoheptanizer overhead back to C-Cisomerization zone. Higher gasoline yields and higher percentage of 95 RONC gasoline is achieved over the whole naphtha complex with operating costs savings by fully integrating the C-Cisomerization zone, two Cisomerization zones, deisohexanizer and deisoheptanizer columns.

Processes for catalytic reforming in which a cracking inhibitor, such as an olefin, or a light olefin, is used to inhibit thermal cracking of larger hydrocarbons in non-reactive zones. The cracking inhibitor may be added at various positions through the processes, such as in the recycle gas stream, before a heater, before a stream is passed into a reforming zone, after an effluent stream is recovered from a reforming zone. A molar ratio of cracking inhibitor to hydrocarbons in stream may be between 0.01 and 0.2.
