A system and a method for making and using an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) fluid. The EOR fluid includes a base fluid, an anionic-nonionic surfactant including one of sodium alkylphenol ethoxylate carboxylate (APEC), sodium alkyl ethoxylate carboxylate (AEC), sodium alkylphenol ethoxylate sulfate (APES), or sodium alkyl ethoxylate sulfate (AES), and a second surfactant including a cationic surfactant including an alkyl pyridine salt.

Surfactant mixtures for enhanced oil recovery

This disclosure relates to thermal stimuli-responsive surfactant mixtures useful for reducing water/oil interfacial tension at high temperatures and increasing water/oil interfacial tension at low temperatures. The disclosure also relates to methods of using the surfactant mixtures for enhanced oil recovery applications.

Thermal stimuli-responsive surfactants for enhanced oil recovery

Provided is a quaternary ammonium surfmer and copolymers thereof. The surfmer may have the following general formula (I): N—RRRR(X), where: Rand Rmay independently be H or a C-Calkyl, Rmay be a Camidoalkyl group, Rmay be a C-Calkyl having a terminal olefin double bond group, and X may be a halogen. Further provided is a method for synthesizing the quaternary ammonium surfmer, copolymers thereof, and a method for recovering hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation that may include injecting a treatment fluid comprising the quaternary ammonium surfmer or copolymers thereof into the subterranean formation.

Synthesis of a cationic surfmer and its copolymers for enhanced oil recovery

Surfactant mixtures include a cationic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant in a brine solution. The cationic surfactant may include at least one quaternary ammonium, at least one brominated trimethylammonium, or combinations thereof. The anionic surfactant may include at least one organosulfate. The nonionic surfactant may include the nonionic surfactant comprised of a polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester, a phenylated ethoxylate, or combinations thereof. The surfactant mixtures may be incorporated into methods for reducing the interfacial tension between the surfactant mixture and oily fluids during chemical enhanced oil recovery. The methods for reducing the interfacial tension may include introducing the surfactant mixture comprising a cationic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant in a brine solution to a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir, thereby reducing the interfacial tension at a liquid-liquid interface of the surfactant mixture and the fluid.

Surfactant mixtures used during chemical enhanced oil recovery and methods of use thereof

The invention relates to a method of circular use of waste brine produced in the manufacture process of MDI, comprising the following steps: (1) the waste brine produced in the manufacture process of MDI is subjected to a high-gravity extraction and then to a column extraction, wherein said waste brine contains aniline, diaminodiphenylmethane and polyamine; (2) the waste brine from step (1) is transmitted to a stripping tower for steam stripping; (3) the waste brine from the stripping tower of step (2) and a chemical oxidant are transmitted to an oxidation reactor to which air is blown for aeration; (4) the waste brine after the treatment of step (3) is transmitted to an absorption tower for absorption. The invention makes the salt water have TOC of less than 8 ppm and TN of less than 2.5 ppm and achieves regeneration of resources in the waste brine such as sodium chloride and water and the like for circular use.

Method for treating waste saline water produced in production process of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI)

The present invention provides a method of preparing polymethylene-polyphenyl-polyamine (briefly referred to as polyamine, DAM), in which a high gravity rotating bed is used as the mixing reactor of formaldehyde and aniline hydrochloride, the mixing solution of aniline hydrochloride and circulation solution and the formaldehyde are fed into the high gravity rotating bed reactor proportionally to carry out mixing and condensation reaction under a condition of a very high gravity; the materials leaving the high gravity rotating bed reactor is introduced into a stirred vessel to proceed with the pre-condensation reaction and obtain a condensation solution; and the process steps of heating, molecular rearrangement, neutralization, water washing and purification, etc. are completed to obtain the refined DAM. With the method according to the present invention, the main by-products is obviously reduced in the condensation process, the phenomenon of deposit attaching to the inner walls of circulation pipes and heat exchanger and blockage are prevented in the condensation process, the impurity content is low in the refined DAM, and the subsequent product MDI has a lighter color, the product quality is stable and may be improved to a certain extent.
